00:47Defense Secretary Gibutio Doro said,
00:50The activities of China are expected to be a part of the Philippines' continued aggression against our rights in the West Philippine Sea.
01:20of not only the Philippines but other countries to temper their moves and act in accordance with international law.
01:32Foreign Affairs Department was surprised by what happened, especially when the Philippines talked to China to ease tensions.
01:41China has always said it wanted to de-escalate, but every time this happens, certainly it tends to raise tensions.
01:50So it's something that certainly we have to pay close attention to.
01:54But that's what they're saying, we'll have to see if they can really help in maintaining a more stable relationship to de-escalate tensions.
02:04The Armed Forces of the Philippines insisted that China's actions were dangerous
02:10and this is the first time that an airplane of their Air Force lost its flare.
02:17For instance, those flares landed on our aircraft.
02:22It can hit the propeller or the intake or it can even burn our aircraft.
02:31It's very dangerous.
02:32Despite this, the AFP will not give up.
02:36The maritime patrol will continue in the West Philippine Sea.
02:41The National Maritime Council will also assist the AFP in protesting against China's actions.
02:50Naturally, we can't let this go even if the public says it's a diplomatic protest or whatnot.
02:59We cannot not do it.
03:01If not, we'll be in trouble.
