00:06of Justice is holding hearings with the former electoral candidates of the July 28th elections

00:12as part of the investigation into the electoral process that is taking place in the country

00:17ever since the electoral day.

00:20At this moment, the Supreme Court of Justice is receiving new representatives from right-wing

00:26organizations and other organizations that participated in the elections of July 28th.

00:36Earlier today, the highest judicial authority of the country received representatives from

00:42right-wing organizations, among whom were Zulia Governor Manuel Rosales from A New Time

00:47Party, José Cartaya from the Democratic Unity Roundtable, and also José Calzadilla from

00:53the Movement for Venezuela.

00:56Also today, it is suspected the appearance of representatives from partisans that supported

01:01former candidate Luis Eduardo Martínez from the Democratic Action.

01:07In this context, Edmundo González, who was a candidate for the Democratic Unity Platform

01:13PUD, did not appear at the hearing in the Supreme Court of Justice electoral chamber,

01:20where he was expected to present earlier today the voting records from the presidential

01:26elections held on July 28th, thus disobeying an explicit mandate from the Supreme Court.

01:34According to the Supreme Court President, Carizlia Rodríguez warned that the failure

01:40to appear before the electoral chamber will have the consequences provided for in our

01:46current legal system, that's what she said.

01:50The extreme right registered for elections and put up election witnesses, but since before

01:56the electoral process, González already announced that he would sign fraud.

02:03This was even months after the celebration of the elections on July 28th, where over

02:1220 million Venezuelans were called to go to the polls and exercise their right to vote.

02:20After the election day, after realizing they would not win, the far-right choose to promote

02:26violence with the intention of starting a civil war in the country.

02:31We are seeing images of the President of the Supreme Court, Carizlia Rodríguez, entering

02:35the courtroom and receiving the documents from the representatives and also from former

02:44candidates of the electoral process.

02:51Going back to the violence that was unleashed, promoted by the far-right hours and days following

02:59the release of the election results that gave the victory to re-elected President Nicolás

03:06Maduro, information released by the National Electoral Council, there was an outbreak of

03:17violence promoted by the extreme right between Monday and Tuesday of last week that did not

03:25have as protagonists peaceful citizens, students or trade unions.

03:30Most of the people who were arrested admitted that they didn't even go to vote on July

03:3528th.

03:38The extreme right did not succeed in mobilizing workers or good people, but rather young men

03:44that were very violent.

03:50In the past days, during violent protests, the culprits burned official facilities, government

03:56buildings, educational institutions, health centers and monuments, among others.
