00:17as Scottie Scheffler stands atop the medal podium

00:20with a gold medal around his neck.

00:22Keith, how did Scottie Scheffler accomplish this

00:25in record-setting fashion in Paris on Sunday?

00:29Well, once again, Scottie Scheffler has asserted himself

00:32as the best player in the world.

00:34Guys, he lost strokes putting for the week

00:37at Les Golfes Nationaux,

00:38and he still won, by one, and took home the gold medal.

00:41You know, I sat with Joe Ranieri,

00:43a good friend of ours on Sports Grid on Saturday,

00:45Game Time Decisions, and he said,

00:47hey, what do you think?

00:48I said, well, I'm invested in ROM,

00:50and I feel pretty good about that,

00:51but if I was going to take anybody at this point,

00:54I would take Scottie at plus 1,400.

00:56He's more than triple his odds to start the week,

00:58and we only have one round to go.

01:00We have precedent for this.

01:01When you go back to Sawgrass,

01:03he shot 64 on Sunday to take that title away

01:05from Wyndham Clark and Xander Schaufeli.

01:08You go back to API and Bay Hill,

01:09he shot 66 on a Sunday.

01:11Scottie is making a name for himself

01:13for these Sunday spectacular comebacks,

01:16and guys are paying attention to the leaderboards

01:18more and more when he's in the field.

01:21It's unbelievable to try to watch this, too, Keith,

01:23because you take a look at 67, 69, 67, and 62.

01:26That was a phenomenal final round,

01:28but also, when we talk about the pricing

01:29at the FanDuel Sportsbook,

01:31I sort of joked to myself,

01:32five, six, seven shots back

01:34with, let's just say, a day and a half left

01:35in the golf tournament,

01:36and he's still priced right there

01:38as if he could win it,

01:39but he keeps providing this day after day.

01:41But the point I want to talk to you about is here.

01:43Scottie Sheffler, not a huge emotional guy,

01:46gets to the podium and breaks down there

01:48for what it meant to him here.

01:49That was an unbelievable run,

01:50and maybe he didn't anticipate

01:52on Saturday or early Sunday being in that position,

01:54then it all hit him at once.

01:56A gold medal for him

01:57just to put on that mantle was fantastic.

02:00Well, I tell you what, the Olympics, Donnie,

02:02it has really evolved over the years.

02:04We talked about this a lot last week.

02:06In 2016, we're sending Bubba Watson

02:09and Patrick Reed to these events.

02:10Now, all of a sudden, we have Xander,

02:12we have Scottie, we have Colin, we have Wyndham.

02:14We have these stars going,

02:16and it really actually means something to him.

02:18And once the golfers have bought in,

02:20obviously, it meant something to Hideki.

02:21We saw Tom Kim move to tears

02:24because we know about the mandatory military service

02:26that he faces over in South Korea.

02:28These guys have really bought into this.

02:30And I think that Scottie, above all else,

02:33he had to be in a very emotional moment.

02:35I mean, think about the year he's been through.

02:37We forget about all of this

02:38because with the seven wins,

02:40the gold medal, the green jacket,

02:41but he's the only guy I know in the top 10 in the world

02:44that spent time in jail this year.

02:45You know, he's the only one that had a mugshot.

02:48Imagine the emotional rollercoaster

02:49he went through that day.

02:50I was there in Valhalla.

02:51I saw that press conference after he shot 66,

02:54and he warmed up in a jail cell.

02:56This guy has had an unbelievable season.

02:58And although, you know, some of the critics

03:00are going to want to say,

03:01well, it's not as good as Tiger,

03:02it's not this, it's not that,

03:04Tiger used to always win from the front.

03:06Tigers do, Scottie's doing a lot of winning from behind.

03:10And that's really unique in my mind

03:12and pretty special for what we get to see this year.
