00:00Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about a Tubi original movie, but I don't know how

00:07original it is.

00:09They got the rights to do the remake of Terror Train that came out in 1980.

00:16Now Terror Train starred Jamie Lee Curtis, and as you know Jamie Lee Curtis got her big

00:22break in a Halloween movie that I believe the first one came out in 1978.

00:28So she became a horror icon, and she did a lot of horror movies after Halloween, Terror

00:35Train was one of them, and I believe the same year Prom Night came out as well.

00:40I believe one year she had three horror movies that came out in one year, and of course she

00:46did Halloween II and many more.

00:49So she did the original Terror Train, and David Copperfield, an actual magician, was

00:55actually in the original movie as well.

00:58So Tubi got the rights to remake it.

01:01So they did, and they advertised it like crazy, and it came out in 2022 on Tubi as an original

01:08movie.

01:09But how original was it?

01:11And that's the one I'm really talking about today.

01:14Not the remake, I'm not talking about the original.

01:18If you've seen the original, do you need to see the remake?

01:22Well in a way, sadly enough, yes.

01:26Because Terror Train, they also made a sequel, Terror Train II, the remake did a sequel that

01:33I never heard of.

01:34I didn't know it came out.

01:36Now was the remake any good?

01:39It had good new actors in there, and some actors that have done TV series, the magician

01:45will be recognizable in a TV series that I'll put up behind me, I can't quite pronounce

01:51it, Swatch Creek or something.

01:54So he did that TV series, and that's what he's kind of known for, and he played the

01:58magician in Terror Train.

02:01And the main actress, she's absolutely wonderful in this.

02:05The problem with the remake is it was not really a remake, it was a duplicate of the

02:12original film.

02:13So if you haven't seen the original film, you will enjoy it.

02:16Now yes, they did change the mask a little bit, and the kills a little bit, and gave

02:21a modern take on it, sure, but the characters were still somewhat similar to the original.

02:28Some people call it the exact duplicate, no, I don't call it the exact duplicate.

02:34Anything that I would call an exact duplicate would have been the Psycho, Psycho did a remake

02:41a long time ago, Albert Hitchcock made the first one, and they decided to do a remake.

02:48That to me was word for word a duplicate.

02:52I don't think Terror Train was, but it was still fun to watch.

02:57Not as good as the original with Jamie Lee Curtis, but it was a good film, and it had

03:02a bad rating, a 3.5 out of 10, and a lot of people just tore it to pieces, but in general

03:10it was good.

03:11What Terror Train is about is it's Halloween, and there's a Halloween party with a magician

03:16on board, and they're just partying, having fun, and there's a killer.

03:21Does everyone die?

03:22No.

03:23Some people survive.

03:24That is why they made a 2.

03:26I'm not going to tell you what happened in Terror Train, but this is a year after, a

03:32year after they made Terror Train 2, and they didn't really promote it.

03:37I didn't see any promotions, it was on Prime.

03:40I didn't even know it came out.

03:42Now apparently though it has a 3.6 out of 10, but I honestly think that a lot of people

03:47need to see it.

03:48Now the original version never had a sequel, so this was fresh.

03:53It was New Year's Eve, and the original Terror Train, this time they call it Terror Train

04:00New Year's Eve party.

04:02Now the person who survived the attack, and possibly killed the killer, I could be lying

04:08to you, maybe did kill the killer, maybe this is a new killer, I'm not going to say.

04:13But what happened in this one, she couldn't get over, she was having bad visions, and

04:22she had to see a therapist, and the therapist says you need to get out of this, and she

04:26had a friend that was helping her try to overcome what happened.

04:31And she thought the best way for her to overcome it was to go to the New Year's Eve on the

04:37original train to overcome the kills, to get over what truly happened.

04:44So she decides to do it.

04:47She gets on that train, and it's a New Year's Eve party, and unfortunately kills happen

04:53again.

04:54Is the killer still alive?

04:56Is it a new killer?

04:57What is truly going on?

04:59And some of the original cast from the remake, obviously Terror Train, that survived are

05:06on it too.

05:07And the magician from the original remake were in Terror Train too as well.

05:18So the magician is on this train as well to do magic tricks.

05:24And another woman was on there too, trying to get her channel going.

05:30So it's a really good modern take, because this woman was trying to get her channel going,

05:34and she had fans on there of what happened on this train.

05:38She didn't know that when she came on, and she didn't like her friend for not telling

05:44her.

05:45But overall, things start happening on the train.

05:49I really enjoyed it too.

05:51I really enjoyed the acting.

05:53Like personally, I don't think it deserves a 3.6, a 6.5 out of 10.

06:00I wouldn't give it any higher, but it's definitely worth a watch.

06:04Watch the remake, watch the sequel.

06:07Some people call it a screen rip-off, or they can just make another third one, and a different

06:13this happening, and a different this happening, so they always get back on the train.

06:17Possibly.

06:18I don't know.

06:19I would kind of like it, as long as it's fun.

06:23But a 6.5 out of 10 for me, not fantastic.

06:26But the remake is worth it.

06:29Then watch the sequel.

06:31It's fun.

06:32It's just a fun slasher flick.

06:34Good acting, and I wouldn't mind seeing the main actress do other things, because a lot

06:39of actors have not done a lot of things.

06:42They're young actors, and I can't wait to see what else they'll do.
