00:00:44Along with the living legend, Larry Babinsko, I'm Tony Schiavone here for the first hour,
00:00:49and do we have a dandy for you.
00:00:51Later on in this telecast, the Four Horsemen and the Dungeon of Doom will collide in an
00:00:56eight-man tag team main event.
00:00:59Sting and Lex together in tag team action against the Shiner Brothers.
00:01:02And speaking of Sting and Lex, and speaking of the Horsemen, I have never seen anything
00:01:06as what I witnessed last week on this program, the blatant attack from the New World Order.
00:01:13Hulk Hogan caused it all.
00:01:14You know, living in the age of anxiety, to err is human, but to forgive is really stupid.
00:01:23Arn Anderson and Flair better unite with Sting and Lex Luger.
00:01:27No forgiveness.
00:01:28This is war games.
00:01:30Yes, sir, it is.
00:01:31Ladies and gentlemen, we're going to take you to the footage from last week.
00:01:34Earlier in the telecast, during the course of a match, we were beckoned on the outside.
00:01:39Our cameras went out, and we saw Hulk Hogan, members of the New World Order,
00:01:44blatantly spray-painting the Turner Broadcasting System's production truck.
00:01:49You like that?
00:01:50And we thought it would stop from there.
00:01:51It did not, as we will show you later on in the telecast.
00:01:53And then, of all people, Ted DiBiase walks on the scene.
00:01:57He walked down, apparently had bought a ticket.
00:02:00He came to ringside.
00:02:01He watched the remainder of the matches.
00:02:03And we only can speculate and wonder what he was doing there.
00:02:06We will show you a little bit later on how he said, with his fingers, four and five.
00:02:11Next week, we can only speculate as to what DiBiase was talking about.
00:02:15Next week is here, Larry.
00:02:17Well, again, yes, speculation solves nothing.
00:02:19What we have to do is unite.
00:02:21Look at the New World Order.
00:02:23They have one thing we don't.
00:02:24They have a leader, Hulk Hogan.
00:02:27What Lex has to do, what Sting has to do, what Arn has to do, I think,
00:02:31is follow the advice of Ric Flair.
00:02:34He's the most experienced.
00:02:36And even though he's the dirtiest player in the game, we need a leader.
00:02:40As we go to the ring, the first bout this week on Nitro.
00:02:44Now we open up the telecast with Diamond Dallas in singles competition.
00:03:03As we said, Larry, we have a tremendous program.
00:03:06You know, we saw what happened last week when the New World Order came out.
00:03:10And as I said, it did not stop there.
00:03:13We're going to be showing you that footage a little bit later on.
00:03:15It is without a doubt that not only the most blatant attack on world championship
00:03:19wrestling, but the most blatant attack ever on the Horseman.
00:03:23I never thought I would see someone spray paint the hair of the nature boy,
00:03:27Ric Flair, and get away with it.
00:03:28Well, the Horseman, and I think it's going to give a common bond.
00:03:32I think Hulk Hogan may have made an error, an error made by somebody who's
00:03:37not immortal, made by somebody whose head got way too big for his neck.
00:03:42They gave WCW a common bond by attacking.
00:03:45We'll show them later on what exactly happened.
00:03:48In this telecast, as we said, fans, we have that tremendous eight-man tag team
00:03:53main event, the Horseman, the Dungeon of Doom, a longstanding rivalry in world
00:03:58championship wrestling.
00:03:59In addition, the Giant will be here in singles competition.
00:04:02The Macho Man Randy Savage wrestled tonight.
00:04:05As you take a look at our capacity crowd on hand as we are in the month of
00:04:09September.
00:04:10That means Fall Brawl featuring War Games, and as we started out, Alex Wright
00:04:15and Diamond Dallas Page to begin things here.
00:04:17Well, watch Diamond Dallas Page.
00:04:19He's going to try to get a quick advantage over Wright.
00:04:21There he goes.
00:04:22Oop, he nipped up.
00:04:23Takes him down, take him down again.
00:04:25Diamond Dallas wants this kid on the mat.
00:04:27He knows he's fast.
00:04:28He wants to slow him down.
00:04:30Oh!
00:04:31Spinwheel kick, and that was right on target.
00:04:34Alex Wright showing a lot of fire and vigor here early on.
00:04:37Look at that clothesline.
00:04:39Nailed him right next to the rope.
00:04:41Diamond's plan backfired.
00:04:42I know Page would want to stop, but he hasn't been able to do it.

00:04:54You would think that he is wrestling on behalf of the whole Guerrero family
00:04:58based on what Diamond Dallas has done to the Guerreros over the past couple
00:05:01of weeks, Larry.
00:05:02You know, everybody's getting paranoid pointing their finger at Nick Patrick.
00:05:06Maybe Alex Wright's on the take from the Guerreros.
00:05:09Down he goes.
00:05:10Alex Wright got a lateral press out of that and got a two-count.
00:05:13You talked about Nick Patrick.
00:05:14There you see him.
00:05:15The referee for the opening bout here this week on Nitro.
00:05:18So much controversy.
00:05:20No doubt about it.
00:05:21Uh-oh.
00:05:22Diamond Dallas showing quickness of his own that time, dropping down.
00:05:26Well, you may fool Diamond once,
00:05:27but you're not going to fool him twice with the same maneuver,
00:05:29and that's what Alex Wright tried to do, nail him close to the ropes.
00:05:33But Page was ready.
00:05:34You know, he still has possession of the ring.
00:05:36He has possession of the ring, even though Eddie Guerrero won the ring
00:05:41recently.
00:05:42As a matter of fact, he won it at the Clash of the Champions
00:05:44in Denver, Colorado.
00:05:46And then after he lost the match, he took the ring back,
00:05:50beat Eddie Guerrero with a repeated Diamond Cutter,
00:05:54and then a week later on Nitro, took a strap to Chavo Guerrero Jr.
00:05:58And now Chavo and Diamond Dallas will try to settle this grudge.
00:06:02Chavo wrestling, of course, for not only honor, but for family as well,
00:06:06coming up at Fall Brawl Sunday, September 15th.
00:06:09Diamond should have beat up a guy with a smaller family.
00:06:12Well, you're probably right about that.
00:06:14Here's a pickup.

00:06:36Complaining to Nick Patrick, who is staying with it here now.

00:06:44Covers the arms with the legs and gets a—
00:06:46No, the arm was on the way down for three.
00:06:48Could not get him.
00:06:50Yeah, he just didn't have enough weight over his shoulders.
00:06:52A little too far back.
00:06:54Again, wasting time.
00:06:56But Diamond Dallas, again, all he's looking for is to get that head
00:06:59in the right place like this.
00:07:01Oh, he threw him off.
00:07:03Waist lock, back elbow, and that caught him.
00:07:06Wildly swinging on the back elbow again.
00:07:08Good move.

00:07:14Could not get him.
00:07:15Here's an uppercut, European style,
00:07:17and it sends him rocking back to a neutral corner right above us
00:07:20as this capacity crowd looks on.
00:07:22And I tell you, they are appreciating the efforts here of Alex Wright,
00:07:27showing as much fire as we've seen in a long time.
00:07:30Well, they're jealous of Diamond Dallas.
00:07:32I mean, everybody in this arena wants to live in the penthouse he's living in.
00:07:36They just can't get out of the gutter.
00:07:37But Diamond, oh, he got the gutter.
00:07:40He got the diamond gutter.
00:07:41The place explodes.
00:07:43And that's what is so lethal about that move.
00:07:45At him anywhere, he can put it on.

00:07:53I tell you, the Guerrero is going to be coming in with temper slaring.
00:07:59Chavo Jr. leading the charge at fall brawl, but they have to watch out
00:08:05for this man with the diamond gutter, Diamond Dallas Page.
00:08:08Well, you stick your head in the wrong place, and Diamond Dallas,
00:08:11he's got it down to a science.
00:08:13He just hooks it.
00:08:14He's a tall guy, about 6'5", throws his weight out,
00:08:18puts tremendous pressure on the neck when he drops the weight.
00:08:21But right here, Alex Wright made a mistake right there.
00:08:24Had his head down.
00:08:25Diamond caught him, dumped him.
00:08:27I think he knocked half the wind out of Alex Wright right there.
00:08:30Look it, getting up.
00:08:32Look at how he extends his body, Tony,
00:08:34and that's what puts the pressure on the neck of young Alex Wright.
00:08:38A lot of questions need to be answered by one Nick Patrick,
00:08:41and hopefully with those questions, we take you to Gene Oakerlin right now.

00:20:13as you talk to wrestling fans from Japan,
00:20:16from Europe, from Mexico,
00:20:18the WCW cruiserweight division
00:20:20has really caught on worldwide.
00:20:22We have some great competitors,
00:20:23not only here in the United States,
00:20:25but worldwide in this division.
00:20:26I think it's the most competitive division
00:20:28in world championship wrestling,
00:20:30and cruiserweights, as you mentioned,
00:20:31from around the world,
00:20:33vying for a spot here in WCW,
00:20:35much like this recent addition, Chris Jericho.
00:20:38On stage, I was talking to Dean Malenko,
00:20:40and it appears that he still has
00:20:42Rey Mysterio Jr. on his mind.
00:20:44He's still thinking about that
00:20:45Clash of the Champions matchup,
00:20:47where he thinks that he had the victory
00:20:49over Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:20:51I hope that he's not looking past Chris Jericho,
00:20:54because Chris Jericho has proven
00:20:56in international rings and recently in WCW
00:20:59that he is going to be one of the top
00:21:00cruiserweight competitors.
00:21:02Well, is going to be is in future tense.
00:21:04You know, that's, in other words,

00:21:45and amazingly enough, despite both of those
00:21:48great international reps,
00:21:49these two men never met in Japan
00:21:51wrestling for different promotions
00:21:53over in the Orient.
00:21:55And right now, Malenko being very tentative as well,
00:21:58and I also want to, not to really
00:22:00change the subjects on you,
00:22:01but Nick Patrick came back out here
00:22:04to the booze of the fans,
00:22:05and he has a very stern look on his face.
00:22:08I think we've got a very angry referee right now
00:22:10who says he's gonna call it to the letter,
00:22:12so we'll wait and see.
00:22:13Well, you'd be upset too if you were
00:22:15wrongly accused of everything,
00:22:17and Patrick's doing what he has to do.
00:22:19Oh, nice move by Jericho,
00:22:21but Patrick, if he sticks to the rules,

00:25:11Obviously, Malenko trying to ground Jericho.
00:25:14We've seen that Jericho
00:25:15has some amazing high-risk moves.
00:25:17Now he's got him up,
00:25:18and oh!

00:25:20You really put yourself at a risk that time
00:25:22when you put that maneuver on,
00:25:24because if Jericho has the presence to stand up,
00:25:26that can happen,
00:25:27but Malenko just will not stay down.
00:25:29Well, he should have broke the hole
00:25:30when he felt Jericho coming up.
00:25:32You know, that is not an easy thing to do,
00:25:34and I'm sure Malenko didn't expect Jericho
00:25:37to be able to pick him up like that
00:25:38with his neck.
00:25:39That's a feat of strength.

00:25:43maybe the butterfly suplex,
00:25:44possibly into a powerbomb.
00:25:46We've seen both variations.

00:34:01he's still seeing a psychiatrist, he's still full of hate,
