Robert Downey Jr. returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dr. Doom has some fans already bitching ... but one fellow actor who's worn the villain's iron mask is all in.

00:00It was an astonishing moment to see the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. would take on the mask

00:12of doom, so to speak.

00:14And I've been receiving posts and texts and, you know, what do you think?

00:21What do you think?

00:22And, you know, what can I say?

00:27It certainly is an exciting moment that finally an actor will be stepping into the shoes of

00:33doom after many years.

00:35We had a couple of other incarnations of that.

00:39But that it's Robert Downey Jr., well, how exciting.

00:43For me, as a fellow actor, I will say, you know, kudos to Mr. Downey.

00:50It's a magnificent role.

00:53He's a magnificent actor who has proven that time and time again.

00:58He has reincarnated himself in many ways, I think both in his life and in his career.

01:04So maybe who better to actually take up the mantle of doom in this uncertain moment?

01:12When Marvel, I think people would agree, needs, you know, a big push, kind of a swift kick

01:19in the pants.

01:20You know, it hasn't been dragging a little bit, and I think everyone has agreed on that.

01:25So why not go to Mr. Downey?

01:29He single-handedly, in my view, you know, is responsible for the success of the MCU.

01:37Now I say that without reservation because he created Iron Man out of his talent and

01:44his virtuosity.

01:47And it really is the movie and the series of movies that connected Marvel to the audience.

01:54And I think anyone, you know, would agree with me on that.

01:58And it gave rise to the Avengers and to so many other things.

02:02So yes, why wouldn't Marvel say, let's get our lucky charm in on this?

02:08Mr. Downey will be Dr. Doom.

02:12On the other side, of course, the fans have been clamoring, saying, but no, he's Tony

02:18Stark.

02:19He's Iron Man.

02:20You don't just trade that kind of horse in midstream, although, you know, the stream

02:26is over for Tony Stark.

02:27So one could say he has a right to be reincarnated.

02:31You know, I understand.

02:35But has certainly knows he has his work cut out for him to shed all of the associations

02:42with a, you know, the brilliant, charming, handsome, wisecracking, you know, Tony Stark

02:49to become Dr. Doom.

02:52Dr. Doom is a universe unto himself.

02:55Dr. Doom is a king.

02:59He is, he's so, he's a brilliant scientist and also a dark wizard.

03:05He is things way beyond Tony Stark, in my view.
