Presumptive Cowboys starting center Brock Hoffman joined the GBag Nation LIVE in Oxnard to talk about the competition with rookie center Cooper Beebe for the starting job, how he loves boxing and how he uses it to improve his game, and more!

00:00Let's talk about your journey.

00:16Just a short time ago, 2022, undrafted, didn't stick on in Cleveland with the Cowboys last

00:25year in camp, waved at the end of camp.

00:28Then you end up starting two games and now, you know, it looks like you're number one

00:31on the depth chart.

00:33You must have been putting in some great work here over the last year plus.

00:36Yeah, no, I think it, you know, my NFL journey is kind of a representation of how my whole

00:41football journey has been.

00:42You know, I grew up in kind of a football family.

00:45My dad being a college coach when I was really young and then he coached me through elementary

00:50school and, you know, he always told me, like, whether it's football or life, you're going

00:54to face adversity.

00:55You know, I was an under recruited kid out of high school.

00:57I went to Coastal Carolina.

00:58That was a school that was going into their first year in the FBS, right, and then ended

01:03up transferring.

01:04My mom was sick.

01:05Went to Virginia Tech, ended up playing and then, you know, boom, adversity strikes.

01:09You go undrafted, right?

01:11Going to camp.

01:12Don't make the team.

01:13You're on practice squad.

01:14Then week 10 comes around right off the bye week.

01:17Like I, it was kind of a rough 48 hours, right?

01:19So I went to go see my girlfriend who was still in school.

01:23Flight got delayed.

01:24Landed at like midnight.

01:25Had to wake up at five and then there was the Grim Reaper and the breakfast line like

01:29came and tapped me and I was like, damn, dude, like five hours off the plane.

01:33So yeah, I mean, it was it was definitely a tough time.

01:38Went home for four days and the Cowboys called, came on a workout and I always believe, you

01:42know, adversity makes the strong, stronger, the weak, weaker, and it's always been something

01:46I've prided myself on.

01:47That's a Mike Tyson quote, big boxing guy.

01:50So yeah, no, I mean, everything that, you know, whether good or bad, you just got to

01:54keep moving on and keep building and keep improving yourself.

01:57That's kind of been my mindset since I've gotten here and I've been super thankful to

02:00be a cowboy.

02:01I couldn't be happier to be a Dallas Cowboy.
