This summer don't let all the chlorine, salt water and sun wreak havoc on your hair and skin. Here are some quick tips to keep them both protected all season long.

00:06on our hair and skin. Here are some quick tips to keep them both protected all season
00:11long. Get wet before diving in. Wet hair and skin will absorb less chlorine and salt and
00:18lessen their damaging effects. Apply a little leave-in conditioner. It'll create a barrier
00:24and protect your hair even more. Apply sunscreen at least one hour before you're exposed to
00:30the sun. Make sure it's water-resistant and has a broad-spectrum UVA and UVB shield. Apply
00:37it often, at least every two hours, and every time you get out of the water. Even better,
00:42wear protective gear like a swim cap or rash guards that have UV protection. When you're
00:48done for the day, rinse yourself off head to toe with fresh water. In the shower, use
00:54a clarifying shampoo to remove all the chlorine and salt buildup and a deep conditioning treatment
01:00and weekly hair masks. If you have color-treated hair, make sure your shampoo and conditioner
01:06are sulfate-free to protect your color.
