Diving great Daley thought Tokyo was his final Olympics

Team GB gold medallist diver Tom Daley said his children are the reason he didn't retire after the Tokyo Games

00:00Yeah, I thought I retired after Tokyo if I'm quite honest.

00:03We all thought you'd retired.

00:04Yeah, I took two years away from the sport and it took me actually going to the

00:09Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs actually,

00:13where at the end there's this video of what it means to be an Olympian

00:18and it took me completely off guard and of course had quite an emotional response.

00:23It was my son who said to me that he wanted to see me dive in the Olympics

00:28and of course when your children say that they want you to do something,

00:32whether it's going back into the pool and training for the Olympics, you do it.

00:36But this time last year was when I decided to come back

00:39and I didn't know if I was going to get back into the synchro team,

00:42if we were going to qualify a spot, but with a bit of hard work

00:46and making sure that you show up every day and determination, you can get there.
