00:00I was following along on the internet, Ben, and when I saw, I didn't know it was possible.
00:07Like, could you just add 37 minutes of stoppage time?
00:10Like I've not used it.
00:11It's one minute, two minutes, five minutes.
00:13That stoppage time was outrageous here.
00:15So it looks like we do have Kyle back.
00:16I love where you're going with this.
00:18Please help me out.
00:19How much stoppage time can we actually have here, Kyle?
00:22Yeah, yeah.
00:25That was certainly like the first oddity of all of this that happened.
00:31And you know, Morocco was time-wasting.
00:32There was a pitch invader, but 15 minutes felt outlandish.
00:36Now, looking at a lot of the other Olympic games, this appears to be some sort of directive
00:41because we've gotten a ton of stoppage time in basically every Olympic game so far.
00:45So I guess this is something they're going with.
00:47But it was weird as heck, and it felt like they were trying to get Argentina as many
00:52opportunities as possible to equalize.
00:54So of course, in the 16th minute of stoppage time, 15 minutes had gone by.
01:00In the 16th minute, Argentina equalized.
01:03It was an insane equalizer, first of all.
01:07Just truly wild.
01:08I mean, it like hit the post, the goal he made to save, all this stuff, and then it
01:12goes in.
01:15Moroccan fans were upset about the stoppage time, and so they started hurling projectiles
01:20and running onto the field.
01:22So the game ends, or so we thought, and it's a draw, 2-2.
01:30Turns out that we got word about 15 minutes after the game that, no, the game might not
01:35be over.
01:36The official Olympic website listed the game as suspended due to this fan nonsense.
01:47Then it went final.
01:49And there was some weird reporting from the Argentina reporters that, hey, we're trying
01:53to figure out whether it's safe for them to come out and play a couple more minutes
01:57because the game's not technically over.
01:59There's still a minute or two left because of the time wasting during the stoppage time,
02:03yada yada.
02:05So then when the game goes final on the official Olympic website, we all go, all right, that's
02:12it.
02:13They've just decided to call it, which seemed this most sensible thing to do because you've
02:17already played so much stoppage time.
02:19You got the goal.
02:20Let's just end it.
02:22Then there's word that the goal might not stand and the game may not actually be over.
02:30And that was the weirdest part.
02:32So ultimately, I'll cut to the chase here.
02:34They come out.
02:35They bring the players back out for 10 minutes of warmup.
02:38Then they review the VAR footage.
02:40Then they cancel the goal.
02:41Then they play three more minutes, and then the game actually ends.
02:45What seems to be the case is, I guess the referee decided that the game was suspended,
02:50not complete.
02:51We all thought it was complete.
02:53Even the Olympic committee thought it was complete.
02:55But the referee was like, hey, this game is suspended, not finished.
03:00So that's what they're going with.
03:02And it felt real weird.
