Yankees Lineup is PUTRID

BT & Sal tear apart the Yankees and Brian Cashman for the lackluster lineup they trot out there day in and day out.

00:00How could anybody who has actually watched this team for now seven weeks think that the New York Yankees are good

00:07when they feel the embarrassing lineup that they did yesterday?

00:10You could tell me that, wow, with the injuries, they want to go against the lefties,

00:14and give the Mets credit for that, throwing another two lefties at them,

00:17but they have to have Jones in the lineup, they have to have J.D. Davis.

00:20Those guys shouldn't be in the big leagues.

00:22If they are, they shouldn't be in the starting lineup.

00:25And if they are in the starting lineup, they shouldn't be batting first and fourth.

00:29So you can say that you're forced to have them in the game,

00:32then you should not be having them hitting first and fourth.

00:35It hurt the Yankees last night, and Severino was right.

00:38This is not a team. This is a two-man show, and if you get one of the guys out

00:43and pitch around the other, you're going to win, just like the Mets did yet again last night.

00:47You know, everybody made a big deal out of Severino's text to his buddies.

00:51I mean, I think everybody that follows baseball has been texting their own buddies the same thing.

00:56It's so obviously painfully apparent that this team just, they don't have it.

01:02I don't know how many different ways to say it here.

01:05I'm actually getting to the point, and this is a strange place to be as a Yankee fan.

01:09I've been here as a Jets fan, and I was here with the Yankees a couple of years ago, actually,

01:15but it's more with the Jets, where in previous years you hoped they'd lose this game,

01:20then maybe get a better draft pick, and maybe if you lose enough,

01:22then this guy's going to get fired and things are going to change.

01:25I'm starting to think that I want the Yankees to stumble and continue to stumble

01:30going into the trade deadline to force Brian Cashman not to mess around,

01:35because right now, you're here at home, maybe they're going to reunite with Chad Green,

01:39bring a stop to the Yankees.

01:41This isn't a little tweak.

01:42The Yankees need some surgery here.

01:44They've got to bring in some pieces, and I don't feed too much into, Sal,

01:48the hype of the Subway Series.

01:51Don't get me wrong, it's fun.

01:52I do enjoy it.

01:53It's different than playing the Blue Jays or playing the White Sox or playing the Twins.

01:57Yanks-Mets still resonates with me, but not to the point where it's over-the-top insanity.

02:01It's almost 30 years we've been doing this, so I'm a little desensitized to it,

02:05but could you at least please show us that you care a lick about beating the Mets?

02:09It's not like you just split the previous series.

02:11You lost two games to the Mets, and last night, that Triple-A, if that,

02:16lineup that they trotted out was an embarrassment, and it's all Cashman's fault.

02:20The Yankees are supposed to be a World Series contender this year.

02:22The Mets were barely supposed to be a 500-team,

02:25and the Mets have taken the first three of the match-ups of the four match-ups

02:29head-to-head with the Yanks.

02:30Obviously, Cole on the mound tonight, he's got to be the stopper.

02:32Otherwise, it's going to be further embarrassment.

02:34Look, honestly, the Mets have bigger fish to fry about Atlanta coming up after this series,

02:38so the Subway Series is now, at least from my perspective, they won the Subway Series.

02:42That part of it, the Met-Yankee draw, yeah, it'd be nice to sweep the Yankees,

02:45but that part of it's over.

02:46The Yankees are a mess.

02:48This isn't about just losing to the Mets.

02:50Look at the New York Yankees!
