A new boarding house, Arlo's Ratty Hotel, has opened in Blackpool - and it's for pet rats

00:06for rats. Now you don't often hear about boarding houses for rats do you but this is a new thing.

00:11There are people around who keep rats and there's this cage you see but what happens if you want to

00:19go away on holiday to Greece or Spain or just further afield and you're worried about what to

00:24do with the rats and perhaps normally you might think about a friend looking after them but they

00:29don't have experience on looking after rats so you don't really have peace of mind. So this place

00:36is run by an experienced rat owner and it means that not only are they being looked after in the

00:41cage and there's the cage but they have a free roam area here which has got all sorts of things

00:47it's got you know steps and tunnels and tubes and balls and various little things that they can play

00:55with and it gives people peace of mind. If I was asked to look after someone's pet rat then I could

01:03go along I could feed it in the cage I could give it water but I wouldn't know what to do if anything

01:08went wrong or feel comfortable about letting them go for a wander in case they ran off and escaped

01:14so it wouldn't really give the owner peace of mind. So this place is because it gives people peace of

01:22mind and with all the various things in here it's a perfect place for rats to come and it's connected

01:31registered with a vet as well so it's all above board. It's got lots of different things for the

01:39rats to do. It's only just opened in Blackpool so it's a new one and it's a perfect place. It's a bit

01:45small for me I don't think I'll be able to stay yet but if you're a rat owner looking for somewhere

01:50to stay for your rats this is the perfect place. I've never come across one of these things before
