The 2024 Emmy nominations were just announced! And while some shows broke through surprise nods, other anticipated nominees didn't fare as well as they had hoped. Here's a breakdown of the snubs and surprises.

00:12Despite a big awards push, The Curse failed to receive any Emmy nominations,

00:16with star Emma Stone among the awards hopefuls not nominated.

00:19Similarly, Ex-Pat starring Nicole Kidman was also left out of this year's nominations.

00:24Other acclaimed actors who failed to receive nominations include Kelsey Grammer,

00:28who was not nominated for his Frasier revival after the original series was a regular Emmy

00:33winner, The Gilded Age's Nathan Lane, and Shogun's Cosmo Jarvis, among others.

00:38It's also worth noting The Gentleman was left out of the major comedy categories,

00:41but Guy Ritchie did land a directing nod. And while Maya Rudolph received a nod for

00:46Best Comedy Actress, her show Loot was left out of the comedy series category.

00:50Acclaimed series that failed to receive any nods, despite experts' predictions,

00:54include We Were the Lucky Ones, I'm a Virgo, Mary and George, and Llaman Bass Reeves.

01:06In terms of surprises, the Apple TV Plus drama Slow Horses scored its first Emmy

01:10nominations for its third season, and the critically lauded FX comedy Reservation Dogs

01:15finally broke into the major categories.

01:25Meanwhile, fellow FX comedy What We Do in the Shadows made a comeback in the comedy series

01:29and comedy acting categories, after it was only nominated in technical categories last year.

01:34In terms of individual nominations, Dominic West scored a surprise nod for The Crown

01:39after being snubbed last year, as did Idris Elba for Hijack, both in the drama actor category.
