00:00The Department of Education has issued guidelines for the school year 2024-2025.

00:07Meanwhile, several DepEd officials have confirmed their decision on the position.

00:16More than a week before the return of students to school this year,

00:20the Department of Education issued guidelines for activities

00:25in schools for the school year 2024-2025.

00:29Under DepEd Order No. 009,

00:31the school year will officially open on July 29 and will end on April 15, 2025.

00:38In-person learning or face-to-face classes will remain as the primary learning delivery modality.

00:44But blended learning and full-distance learning can still be implemented

00:48in private schools under DepEd Order No. 44, which remains effective.

00:54Once the local authorities declare the cancellation of in-person classes,

00:59blended learning must be implemented to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

01:04In this case, teachers are also required to give home learning tasks

01:09that meet the needs of students and ensure their access to self-learning modules.

01:16And as a preparation for the opening of classes,

01:18DepEd established the school brigade from July 22 to 27,

01:23while the Oplan Balik Eskwela will be held from July 22 to August 2.

01:28From November 25 to 29, the five-day mid-year school break will be established,

01:33while the Christmas break will start on December 21 to January 1, 2025,

01:38and students will return to school on January 2.

01:41The End-of-School Year Rites will be held from April 14 to 15, 2025.

01:46Students will also monitor their learning after the school regulations

01:51to conduct a formative and summative assessment

01:54based on the marks placed in the DepEd Order.

01:57According to DepEd,

01:58more than 4 million students in Kindergarten Grades 1, 7, and 11

02:04registered early this year.

02:07Meanwhile, for the first time ever,

02:09the DBM helped the Teachers' Dignity Coalition

02:12to discuss the weaknesses of teachers in their benefit.

02:15This is where the performance-based bonus for 2022 was discussed,

02:20where the DBM reconciled the worries of the teachers

02:22and agreed to continue giving the so-called benefit

02:26despite the issuance of the EO No. 61 that orders

02:30to review the Result-Based Performance Management System

02:33and Performance-Based Incentive System.

02:36The DBM agreed that they are already cooperating with DepEd

02:39to speed up the release of the PBB for 2022.

02:43In addition to the high salary of the teachers,

02:49under the Fiscal Year 2024 General Appropriations Act.

02:52They are already conducting studies on the compensation and benefits

02:57of teachers for competitive, solid, and fair pay structures

03:01for government employees.

03:03President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has also presented the options

03:08and they are still discussing the scope of the implementation

03:11and the recommended rates.

03:13Some DepEd officials confirmed their effective departure on July 19.

03:18Among them are Undersecretary and Spokesperson

03:21Atty. Michael Poa, who is also the Chief of Staff

03:24of DepEd Secretary,

03:25along with other Undersecretaries and Assistant Secretaries.

03:29In his statement, Poa said that it is only appropriate

03:32to give freedom to incoming DepEd Secretary Sen. Sonny Angara

03:36to choose to become part of his DepEd leadership.
