The latest red alert comes as a sizzling heat wave sends temperatures in parts of central and southern Europe soaring toward 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in some places.

00:00A red alert is in place for all of Croatia as the country continues to swelter through
00:06a heat wave.
00:08The highest temperature on Friday, 37 degrees Celsius, was recorded in the northeastern
00:13region of Slavonia and southern Dalmatia.
00:17And there's been little respite in the sea.
00:19Water temperatures in some areas hit 28 degrees Celsius.
00:24During a heat wave last month, Croatia faced major power outages because of overload and
00:29the collapse of a regional distribution line.
