00:00There are a lot of people out there, including myself, who are a little worried, still worried about the spread of Malaysia in the BRICS.

00:10So there are a few questions I would like to ask you,

00:15that is, how far, or how deep, or how well,

00:20has the government investigated the implications of the spread of Malaysia in the BRICS

00:26on our country's relations and cooperation with the BRICS member states,

00:31which are made up of countries with different economic, political, and social backgrounds.

00:39And how can Malaysia ensure cohesion in mutual respect,

00:44as well as with countries that are not BRICS members,

00:49especially large powers like the United States,

00:52especially with the issue of dollarization that will be mediated by the BRICS.

00:57I would like an explanation. Thank you.

01:01Thank you, Mr. Chairman. This is a good question for the people to understand.

01:06In our relations with the existing countries, including the West, including APEC even now,

01:13we do not agree with everything.

01:16In fact, there is a big difference in the Gaza issue,

01:22in the issue of developing countries, in the issue of trade competition in the WTO.

01:29But that does not mean that we have to end the relationship,

01:33especially when the main thing is trade.

01:36It's the same with BRICS.

01:37BRICS, even though the country's system, say China or Russia, is different,

01:43but in terms of trade and cooperation, they are a country that is close to us.

01:50But there are also countries in BRICS, including South Africa or India,

01:57that practice a democratic system that is closer to us.

02:02This also does not hinder their relationship in BRICS with us.

02:07Besides that, countries like the UAE, India, South Africa,

02:13also have good trade and economic cooperation relations with, for example,

02:19Europe, the US, countries that are not together in BRICS.

02:24Therefore, there is no reason why we and several ASEAN countries

02:29that are now asking to be together in BRICS, should feel worried.

02:34Because our attitude is not to mix up the domestic and political affairs of each country,

02:40but to emphasize trade, economy, and widen the network

02:47so that countries and people, especially traders, businessmen, investors, can benefit.

02:55That is why I agree with Mr. Aman.

02:59We should take a little time to study the possibilities and implications.

03:04Therefore, when we see that these countries are also in APEC, also in BRICS,

03:09there is also OECD in BRICS.

03:11Therefore, there is no reason why Malaysia should be excluded from such discussions.
