00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're counting down our picks for the worst

00:12fighters that made you work for the misfortune of playing as them. I am here

00:17to ask for your support in taking back our beloved city from crime and fear.

00:32Hercule, Dragon Ball Z Budokai series. Whether you know him as Hercule or Mr.

00:41Satan it doesn't change the fact that he's one of the weakest characters

00:45across multiple Dragon Ball Z games. But when you have fighters that are

00:49essentially godlike in terms of power that shouldn't really be a surprise. The

00:54method for unlocking him varies between games but he's always been designated as

00:59the joke character. He has no powers therefore having a lower damage output

01:04than most everyone else. He had some decent combos and special moves even if

01:09they still highlighted his uselessness. However with some of the most famous

01:14anime characters of all time as an option we fail to see the appeal here.

01:23Hyena, The King of Fighters 2006.

01:34In so far his only playable appearance Hyena annoys not only other characters

01:40with his antics but also players with his clunky moveset. In the 2006

01:45installment of King of Fighters you can unlock him by beating the story mode 13

01:49times and the suitability of giving him the unlucky number is not lost on us.

01:54Despite having a couple decent special moves Hyena uses an incredibly awkward

02:00technique that will feel clumsy in your hands. One of his super moves is also

02:04fairly easy to predict and counter. He trips over himself before landing a high

02:08damage kick. If Hyena's combatant throws him while he's performing this special

02:13he's instantly KO'd.

02:20Deku, Fighters Megamix.

02:29Although most may not remember this Sega Saturn exclusive fighter it still has a

02:34pretty poor unlockable character in Deku. The Mexican being in a marachi

02:39outfit is just the type of borderline racism we'd expect from a late 90s game.

02:44But even still he's just not an interesting fighter. His moveset is

02:49lifted entirely from one of the other characters. He isn't even an amalgamation

02:54character like other fighters of the time used to include. He's also just a

02:58bit weaker which really only makes him a handicap for those that want it. All in

03:03all Deku is just lazy.

03:08Dan Hibiki, Street Fighter series. When players think of joke characters in

03:17fighting games it's likely Street Fighter's Dan is the first that comes to

03:21mind and for good reason. Capcom literally created him as a joke in

03:26retaliation against Art of Fighting, an SNK fighter that ripped off Ken and Ryu.

03:30Regardless, Dan has long been a silly but expected inclusion available to

03:36unlock in several games. His moveset is essentially a much less impressive

03:40version of Ken and Ryu's with short range attacks and measly Hadoukens. That

03:45actually fits perfectly with his overconfident but cowardly persona.

03:49However, Dan has still managed to gather quite the following over the years. That

03:55doesn't mean we'll ever pick him though.

04:08Pichu, Super Smash Bros. Melee.

04:16Echo fighters have been a thing in Super Smash Bros. since the beginning but only

04:21in the second game did Nintendo think it would be a good idea to give one of them

04:25the ability to hurt themselves. In Melee, players can unlock Pichu either after

04:30playing 200 versus matches or by completing event match 37. Regardless of

04:35how you unlock the Pokemon, most of us have the same exact inclination after

04:40trying him out. Never again. Every electrical attack emitted from Pichu

04:45adds a small percentage of damage, constantly increasing your chance of

04:48dying even if no one's hitting you. Not only that, but Pichu is the teeniest of

04:54fighters making it incredibly easy to launch him out the arena.

05:01William Borden, Urban Range.

05:09In this 3D beat-em-up story mode, you brawl your way through tons of enemies

05:15to reach the villain, corrupt mayor William Borden. But in multiplayer, Urban

05:19Range is an arena fighter. There are a ton of characters throughout the story

05:23you can unlock here, including the big bad. But boy is it not worth it. You can

05:30only get him by getting an S rank on every single stage, of which there are

05:35100. But after all the effort, Borden isn't any better than the rest of the

05:40characters. In fact, he's worse. Only his counters have the capability of dealing

05:46major damage. We'd be more forgiving if not for the absurd level of challenge in

05:51unlocking him. Roll. Marvel vs. Capcom 2, New Age of Heroes.

06:04With smooth but extremely quick-paced gameplay, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is one of

06:15those fighters that's easy to pick up but difficult to master. Most players can

06:19pull off awesome combos with many of the characters, but even the greenness of

06:24gamers should stay far away from Roll. Although she's Mega Man's sis, she's

06:29clearly outmatched in every way. We're not usually one to judge a book by its

06:34cover, but Roll proves to be a slow poke with poor range, minuscule damage output,

06:39and horrible combo potential compared to everyone else. Most players overly

06:44familiar with the roster consider her to be one of the worst fighters in any game,

06:49which is hard to argue against.

06:53Mocap, Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Mortal Kombat has had many highs and lows

07:08when it comes to unlockable characters. Thankfully, the franchise's lowest point

07:13in those regards happened way back during the sixth generation of consoles.

07:17Mocap is a motion-capture actor who was clearly designed to get a laugh. A mark he

07:23misses. But it isn't just the lame design. He has no distant fighting style

07:28himself, instead taking moves from several other characters. He also has no

07:33fatality, which means the most interesting thing about him is the

07:37aforementioned lame design. Deadly Alliance also made you work hard to

07:41unlock him, requiring you to complete every conquest mission with every

07:45character. It just wasn't worth it.

07:51Dr. Baskanovich Tekken 3. With a varied roster of powerful humans, animals, and

08:05more, surely someone out there wanted to play as an old man who constantly fell

08:10over. No, Namco? No one did? Dr. Baskanovich has played a role in many Tekken

08:16plotlines, but rarely has he ever been playable. He was added as a hidden fighter

08:21in the third entry, unlocked by beating the home version's beat-em-up mode, Tekken

08:25Force, four times. Like Mocap, Dr. B uses different moves compiled from other

08:31fighters. But worse, certain moves and combos will cause him to fall over on

08:37the ground due to his canonical scoliosis. If you pick him, be prepared

08:42to take on the sitting duck role fairly regularly.

08:50Fred Durst. WWF Smackdown, just bring it.

09:01While it was tempting to place the Limp Bizkit frontman's cameo from Fight Club

09:06at the top, we thought we'd pick a game that wasn't also utter garbage. It's not

09:11that we have anything in particular against Durst, it's just unfortunate

09:15that he was made into a terrible unlockable fighter twice. In this

09:20wrestling game, he's unlocked after beating 15 combatants as the Undertaker

09:24in the Slobberknocker mode, which has a 10 minute time limit. Even though this

09:29game released during the height of his band's popularity, we still doubt any

09:34player at the time wouldn't have rather had the spot go to a legacy wrestler.

09:38Even worse, he's one of the weakest fighters on the roster.
