00:10national candidate emerged victorious in the Sungai Bakap state by election.

00:16Unofficial results as of 8pm showed that the 56-year-old former logistics executive has

00:22garnered more than 14,000 votes, giving him a winning majority of over 4,200 votes.

00:29Abidin defeated Pakatan Harapan candidate, former educator Dr. Juhari Arifin.

00:34All 65 ballot boxes from eight polling districts and the postal votes have been counted as

00:39of 8pm.

00:40The by-election was held following the death of incumbent Noor Zamri Latif on May 24 due

00:46to stomach inflammation.
