00:31Good morning. So we just woke up. It's pretty early. We're in Amman right now.
00:36And today we are taking a day trip down to Petra and we're going to be staying in one of those luxury bubble camps tonight, which will be super awesome.
00:46So it's a three hour drive to Petra. It's super easy to get transportation.
00:50Our neighbor across in another apartment does tours and whatever, but it's super easy to find or book online.
00:57So three hours to Petra and then we're going to be exploring all day and then we're going to go check into our bubble at night.
01:02So take you guys along with us.

01:21So we just took a pit stop five minutes out of the way on our way to Petra.
01:26We're at Ash Shubak right now.
01:28This castle up here.
01:30And these crazy ruins that look like Utah.
01:33And I guess there's a hotel here that only sleeps two people.
01:36The sign right here says it's the smallest hotel in the world.
01:39This man here is the manager of the hotel here.
01:42Abu Ali. Name Abu Ali.
01:44Salam. He's my cabin.

01:56Wow, this is sick.

02:27So we're here right now and typically when you come you walk all the way through to here.
02:38And then all the way back.
02:40The option we're going to do is you can take a jeep to here.
02:44Start here and then we just go through the way back.
02:47That saves us about three and a half hours of hiking.
02:50And gives us time to do some of these other side trails.
02:57So right now we're transferring into a Toyota 4x4 truck.
03:02And we paid 25 JD which is going to take us to the monastery which is the very end of Petra.
03:08And then we're going to hike backwards to come back in.
03:11Because otherwise it's like an eight hour hike.
03:13And this should cut it into three since we only have one day here.
03:16So we're heading out.
03:26So the reason we paid 25 JD for a 10 minute 4x4 ride is because it apparently saves you the out and back of Petra.
03:54If you start at the back with the jeep you just go back to the front.
03:5825 is a lot.
04:00And he stopped.
04:02They say they're going to take you to Adia which is the monastery.
04:05But they actually take you an hour from it.
04:07So you have to hike an hour and then go to it.
04:09And they don't really tell you that until after.
04:11And then there's donkey rides available if you'd like to do that for another 40 JD.
04:16Which is like 50 US dollars.
04:18And it's just kind of annoying.
04:20And they say they're going to take you there.
04:22I don't know.
04:23It feels like there's so many tourist scams when you're traveling that you kind of forgot about because it's been so long with COVID.
04:28But it's what it is. It's beautiful out here.
04:30We're enjoying it.

05:30And then we walk downhill all the way through Petra.

07:47So we just made it to kind of the city center inside of Petra.
07:51Saw the monastery and Lions Gate.
07:53Now we're going to be kind of just cruising to all the other spots.
07:56It's so beautiful.
07:58It's so hot.
08:00But it's amazing.
08:02This heat is getting exhausting.
08:25Every little bit we try to hop in a spot with some shade, one of these little restaurants,
08:30or just somewhere where the sun isn't hitting.
08:33But it really is unbelievable.
08:35I don't know if this falls on like the seven wonders of the world list or whatever.
08:39But if it doesn't, it definitely belongs on it.
08:42It's unbelievable to think that this stuff has been here for almost 2,000 years, if not longer,
08:47and that it has held so, you know, it's still here this much longer.
08:51And it looks pretty intact, the ones that are built into the rocks.
08:54So it's really amazing.

09:08And then that way is the treasury.
09:10And now I'm going to go climb up to the tomb of Unashu.
09:29Probably said that wrong, so apologies.
09:31And then after that we're going to go to the treasury.

09:35What everyone comes here for.

09:40So this behind me is the tomb of Unashu.

09:45The stone and the rock just holding.
09:48Perfect. It looks unbelievable.
09:51A little bit of a scramble up.
09:53I left my bag with my brother, thankfully, because that would have kept me off balance.
09:57But unreal.
09:59Look at this architecture.

10:37So we made it to the famous treasury.
10:52It is unbelievable.
10:54Minus all of the people trying to get all the tourists to get paid to go to the top and sell a bunch of other things.
11:00This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, that's for sure.
11:08The treasury is behind me.
11:14We're going up another 10 to 9.
11:17So left and right we've been paying today.
11:19But I think it's just part of the game coming here.
11:38Petra
11:54That is all it for Petra.
11:56We did 10 miles and 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
11:59Which is way more than anyone said.
12:01We were beat doing that in 100 degree weather.
12:04So we're getting a pizza now.
12:07Then we're going to get a taxi and check into our bubble hotel.
12:10Which should be super cool.
12:12Definitely going to enjoy it.
12:14And enjoy the AC.
12:16We made sure it had an AC and a shower.
12:18Because our shower in Oman spits drops of water at you.
12:21So super stoked for that.
12:23And I will show you guys when we arrive.
12:31So we made it to our bubble.

12:35It feels like this was made out of blankets.
12:37So sick.
12:39Never stayed in anything like this in my life.
12:41And we have AC and a shower.
12:43Going to be amazing.

12:47We're scattered around beautiful rock formations.
12:49So it's going to be an awesome night.

12:55But to be honest we were so smoked from today.

12:59But definitely want to show you guys around camp and everything.

13:24Amazing rocks to climb on.

13:28That's another cool little bedouin camp.
13:31So I know there's some pretty cool and quirky airbnbs in the states.
13:35But I've actually never stayed at one of those cool ones.
13:38Like tiny homes or bubbles or domes or yurts.
13:41But this is a traditional Jordan bedouin camp.
13:46So first for everything.
13:48It's so freaking cool.
13:50I'm just roaming the grounds right now.
13:52Climbing all these rocks.
13:54At least the ones that seem like I'm allowed to.
13:56But beautiful.
13:58Beautiful and amazing day all around.

14:08I guess this whole place at night just lights up.
14:12With these candles and lights all across the bedouin camp.
14:15Which is pretty unbelievable.
14:17So we just had a delicious dinner.
14:20We were talking to one of the ladies that runs 7 Wonders.
14:24She was mentioning that Petra typically has 6,000 daily visitors.
14:28And right now it's like 200 to 300.
14:30Which is pretty wild.
14:32And also for this entire camp.
14:34I think there's between all of them more than 80 rooms.
14:38And there's 6 of us tonight.
14:406 guests for 80 some rooms.
14:42So 3 bubbles are occupied.
14:44And none of the tents or some of the other bubbles.
14:46So that's pretty wild.
14:48To show how much of an impact COVID has had in the area.
14:51But going to be done filming for the night.
14:54So see you guys in the morning.
14:56We're going to enjoy the balcony and take some star photos.

15:19And that is going to include our time here.
