Westwood Musical Society bring Through The Years to the Key Theatre

00:00Hi, my name's Simon and I'm the Chairman of Westwood Musical Society.

00:05We have been a society here in Peterborough for over 90 years.

00:09We first started in 1930 and by 1938 the society grew in popularity and demand.

00:16And in 1938 we became the first amateur society to perform at the Embassy Theatre in Peterborough,

00:24at 1,500 seat capacity.

00:27Over the years we continued to perform there and sadly after 42 years our time at the Embassy

00:32came to an end.

00:34But it meant in the early 80s we could move across to the Quay Theatre where we have been

00:38performing ever since.

00:41We've put on so many amazing shows over the years and we hope and plan to continue to

00:45do so.

00:46And we hope to see you at one of our shows very soon.

00:57As a society we're delighted to be back at the Quay Theatre this year and we will be

01:02performing there on the 16th and 17th of July in just a few weeks' time.

01:08This year our production is going to be a walk through the history of the society and

01:13bring into life some of the wonderful musical numbers we've done over the years.
