00:00So how does it feel to have been elected as MP for Southamptonshire?

00:02Oh I'm absolutely delighted and it is a real honour and a privilege so I'm just, although

00:07very very tired, I'm absolutely delighted with the results.

00:09And obviously we've had a Labour win from the election and you won by a majority of

00:143,600 so is that what you were kind of expecting from this election, for it to be quite a close call?

00:19Yeah we always expected to be close and we thought we'd definitely have to work but I

00:23think you know it shows that conservatism is still strong in Northamptonshire and we

00:27just need to build back from that now.

00:29And what are your priorities moving forward now when the work begins?

00:32When the work begins, well I've made a commitment to the residents when I was speaking to them

00:36that there's a huge amount of development coming and I really will be a vocal advocate

00:39against some of the developments that are coming, be that with the DHL application,

00:44there's a Green Hill solar farm and a furrow pit so really I'm going to honour my commitment

00:48to the residents to have meetings with them and see what we can do on that front.

00:51Brilliant and what kind of response did you have over the course of your campaign over

00:54the last six weeks?

00:55Yeah it's been a really positive response.

00:57I know that it's been a challenging position and the national picture has been challenging

01:02but I think people still wanted to vote Conservative as has been proved here and I'm just glad

01:06that they put their trust in me to allow us to deliver for them.

01:09And after a few hours of sleep how will you be celebrating the win?

01:12Oh my goodness me I think the sleeping will be the most important thing at this stage

01:16so yeah I'll deal with that and then yes I'll celebrate with some of my friends and family.

01:20Are they here with you this evening?

01:21Yes I've got my family with me and yeah no I couldn't ask for better support.
