00:00In a copy of the judgment released to the media on Wednesday, the Kuala Lumpur High Court
00:07found there was no arguable case warranting a full hearing of Datuk Seri Najib Razak's
00:13application to obtain a document that he said would allow him to serve his remaining prison
00:18sentence under house arrest.
00:22Justice Amarjeet Singh described affidavits filed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri
00:27Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail saying they
00:34had seen a copy of the Royal Order as hearsay and said the government had no legal duty
00:40to respond to the application.
00:42The former Premier's lead counsel said Najib planned to appeal the decision.
00:46The court said there is no legal duty, but in terms of ethics, the government should
01:10have answered all my letters.
01:14I sent five letters to all those who are concerned.
01:19So if I go to court appeal, same problem I may face or I may face and enlighten three
01:26judges.
01:28So that's one choice.
01:29But the other choice I have is I can go straight for a writ action, which means I file a statement
01:39of claim against the seven people or six or more to say very affirmatively that you
01:48have passed an addendum order on the 29th of January 2024, we therefore seek enforcement
01:58of that.
01:59They remain mute and deaf.
02:05I can do that now, but I can assure you one day this matter will come out.
02:12One day in the future this matter will come out and we know there is the addendum.
02:18The Pardons Board in February said Najib was expected to be released in August 2028, six
02:23years after he began serving his sentence.
02:26It also reduced fines imposed on the ex-Premier.
02:29Najib, who is also considering filing a new petition for a full pardon, remains on trial
02:35for corruption in several other 1MDB linked cases.
