00:00Gordon was cross.
00:02Why should Henry have a new shape? he grumbled.
00:05A shape good enough for me is good enough for him.
00:08He goes gallivanting off to crew, leaving us to do his work,
00:12and comes back saying how happy he feels.
00:14It's disgraceful!
00:19And there's another thing.
00:20Henry whistles too much.
00:22No respectable engine ever whistles loudly at stations.
00:25It isn't wrong, but we just don't do it.
00:30Poor Henry didn't feel happy anymore.
00:33Never mind, whispered Percy.
00:35I'm glad you're home again. I like your whistling.
00:39Goodbye, Henry, called Gordon.
00:41We're glad to have you with us again, but remember what I said.
00:49Later, Henry stopped at Edward's station.
00:51Hello, Henry, said Edward. You look splendid.
00:55I was pleased to hear your happy whistle yesterday.
00:58Thank you, Edward, smiled Henry.
01:01Shh! Shh! Can you hear something?
01:04It sounds like Gordon, said Edward, and it ought to be Gordon.
01:08But Gordon never whistles like that.
01:10It was Gordon.
01:12He came rushing down the hill at a tremendous rate.
01:15He didn't look at Henry, and he didn't look at Edward.
01:18He screamed straight through the station and disappeared.
01:23Well, said Edward.
01:25It isn't wrong, chuckled Henry, but we just don't do it.
01:29And he told Edward what Gordon had said.
01:37Meanwhile, Gordon screeched along the line.
01:41The noise was awful.
01:44At the station, everyone held their ears.
01:47The Fat Controller held his ears, too.
01:50Take him away, he bellowed, and stop that noise!
01:56Gordon puffed sadly away.
01:58But he wouldn't stop whistling until two fitters climbed up
02:02and knocked his whistle valve in place.
02:05That night, Gordon slunk into the shed.
02:08He was glad it was empty.
02:14It isn't wrong, murmured Henry, to no-one in particular,
02:18but we just don't do it.
02:20No-one mentioned whistles.
02:24Next morning, Gordon woke up.
02:26He was in a terrible state.
02:28He couldn't breathe.
02:31No-one mentioned whistles.
02:34Next morning, Henry was enjoying himself enormously.
02:38I feel so well, I feel so well, he sang.
02:41Trickety-trop, trickety-trop, hummed his coaches.
02:46Then he saw some boys on a bridge.
02:48Peep, peep, hello, he whistled.
02:52Oh! he called.
02:54The boys didn't wave and take his number.
02:56They thought it fun to drop stones on him instead.
02:59They've broken our glass, they've broken our glass,
03:02sobbed the coaches.
03:05The passengers weren't hurt, but they were cross.
03:08Call the police.
03:10No, said the driver, leave it to Henry and me.
03:13What will you do, they asked.
03:15Can you keep a secret?
03:17Yes, yes.
03:18Well then, said the driver,
03:20Henry is going to sneeze at those boys.
03:30WHISTLE BLOWS
03:35Lots of people were waiting at the station just before the bridge.
03:39They wanted to see what would happen.
03:42Henry has plenty of ashes, said the driver.
03:45Please keep all windows shut till we have passed the bridge.
03:48Henry is as excited as we are, aren't you, old fellow?
03:51Henry was feeling stuffed up.
03:55Soon they could see the boys, and they all had stones.
03:59Are you ready, Henry, said his driver.
04:02Sneeze hard when I tell you.
04:05Now, he said.
04:07Atchoo!
04:09WHISTLE BLOWS
04:14Well done, Henry, laughed his driver.
04:18Henry went home very pleased with himself.
04:21Here taught Gordon and silly boys a lesson with a whistle and a sneeze.
