00:00of House Report No. 118-559, offered by Mr. Burleson of Missouri.
00:07Pursuant to House Resolution 1316, the gentleman from Missouri, Mr. Burleson, and a member
00:14opposed, each will control five minutes. The Chair recognizes the gentleman from Missouri.
00:19Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I rise today in support of this amendment to prohibit funding for the
00:24World Economic Forum. You see, every year the World Economic Forum hosts its annual
00:29luxury conference in Davos, where CEOs, world leaders, and other globalists take their private
00:36jets to some ski town in Switzerland to discuss carbon emissions, which is ironic, erasing our
00:45borders of our nations, and other high-minded ideas like encouraging a transition to eating
00:52insects because the earth is, quote-unquote, running out of protein. The founder of the World
00:58Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, says it provides a platform for high-powered leaders to, quote,
01:04shape global, regional, and industry agendas. All that really means is bigger governments,
01:12more taxes and spending, more surveillance of citizens, and more open borders.
01:18During the COVID-19 pandemic, Schwab was the guy pushing for the, quote, the great reset
01:25to reshape the world. And when Klaus Schwab says things like, you'll own nothing and you'll be
01:32happy, we should take his at his word. When globalist elites get together to talk about
01:38their plans for world domination, we should not ignore them. And we definitely should send them,
01:44we should not be sending them our U.S. taxpayer dollars to legitimize their efforts. Now, these
01:52Marxist hypocrites want to get together on their own dime, so be it. But since 2013,
01:58the State Department has funneled nearly $60 million, our taxpayer dollars, to the World
02:04Economic Forum. This amendment would simply prohibit the State Department from funneling
02:09any money from U.S. taxpayers to the World Economic Forum. No matter how much they talk
02:14about, quote, protecting liberal democracy, these people, the globalists, these people are the
02:21problem. If we're truly going to represent Americans, and if we're truly going to stand
02:26for our national sovereignty and the freedom to govern ourselves, then we need to stop legitimizing
02:32these globalists with our money. And I urge the adoption of this amendment, and I reserve the
02:37balance of my time. Gentlemen from Missouri Reserves, for what purpose does the gentlewoman
02:41from California seek recognition? Mr. Chairman, I claim the time in opposition. The gentleman is
02:46recognized. I rise in strong opposition to this amendment, which would prohibit any funding to
02:52the World Economic Forum, which we don't fund. The reality is that no funds from this bill go
02:58to the World Economic Forum. And therefore, this amendment would establish another prohibition
03:04for no reason. This is the appropriations process, a process that historically focused on making
03:11things happen rather than making prohibitions on things that are not being done, just in case you
03:17all didn't know. I tell you, this is really quite amazing to me, that we could prohibit
03:25funding for something we don't fund. Now, since this is my last appropriations process,
03:31I cannot be more disheartened with what is happening to the essential work of this
03:36committee when we start funding or defunding what we don't fund. So I urge my colleagues
03:43to oppose this amendment. I reserve the balance of my time. The gentlewoman from California
03:47Reserves, the gentleman from Missouri is recognized. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. She says
03:51that there's nothing in this that sends money, and yet since 2013, the State Department has funneled
03:57nearly 60 million U.S. dollars to the World Economic Forum's efforts. It can't be both.
04:05And even if it is the case, then this amendment shouldn't worry anyone. It's belt and suspenders.
04:13But at the end of the day, the American people don't need to be, when they're $34 trillion in
04:18debt to most individuals per taxpayer, that's over $250,000 per taxpayer that they owe as
04:27their share of the national debt. We should not be sending or taking out more debt to send to
04:33these globalists and fund their agenda. And I reserve the remainder of my time.
04:37Gentleman from Missouri Reserves, the gentleman from California is recognized.
04:42Well, Mr. Chairman, this is mind-boggling. So I guess, once again, we're doing something that
04:49does not make any sense in this process. But the other point I think I'd like to make in closing is
04:56that, once again, this is something that will be supposedly defunded, that we don't fund,
05:04that has to do with the world. It has to do with retreating from the world in terms of just
05:12the agenda of the Republicans. And so I urge a no vote, and I hope that members will look at how
05:19now they're manipulating and misrepresenting this process of the appropriations process,
05:26because when we start defunding what we don't fund, that's very disingenuous and it's misleading to
05:36the public. I urge a no vote and yield back. The gentleman from California yields back.
05:41The gentleman from Missouri is recognized. It is a fact that, since 2013, we have funneled
05:47nearly $60 million to the efforts of this globalist elite organization. I don't think
05:54that the taxpayers of the United States should foot the bill for their agenda, which I think is
06:00an un-American agenda, and I reserve the balance of my time. The gentleman has only one time
06:06remaining. I yield back. The gentleman from Missouri yields back. The question is on the
06:10amendment offered by the gentleman from Missouri. All those in favor say aye. All those opposed say
06:15no. In the opinion of the chair, the ayes have it, and the amendment is agreed to.
06:28It is now in order to consider amendment number nine, printed in Part B of House Report 118-559.
06:38For what purpose does the gentleman from Tennessee seek recognition?
06:43Mr. Chair, I rise as the designee of the gentlewoman from Florida, and I guess she
06:50has an amendment at the desk. The clerk will designate the amendment. Amendment number nine,
06:54printed in Part B of House Report 118-559, offered by Mr. Burchett of Tennessee.
