England win their group - but they haven't thrilled in Germany

00:00So, England have won their group at Euro 2024, but it's not really too much to shout about

00:07given the way they've done it. It was another lacklustre draw against Slovenia today after

00:12performances against Serbia and Denmark that hardly had people salivating. I think it was

00:19an improved performance. They did feel like they created a bit more, but it certainly

00:23wasn't enough. There was not enough going forward and it really feels like the shackles

00:28need to come off. There's so much attacking talent in this England team and we saw a little

00:32bit of it. I think if you look at someone like Phil Foden, I thought he was probably

00:36England's brightest attacking spark in the game tonight, but you saw with Paul Palmer

00:42coming on, with Kobe Minor coming on, the way they came into the game and performed,

00:47I think they put their hands up for a starting berth next time around. I think the way they

00:52attacked the game was really helpful and England felt like they were getting somewhere and

00:59that's what they needed in the knockout round. We don't know who they're going to be facing,

01:02but like I say, it feels a bit hollow, their group victory, because of how things have

01:07played out. A goal in the other game would have changed things drastically and yet they

01:14go through top of the group with five points having drawn two of their matches. I think

01:19if you look at the positives, you do look that England can step it up a bit. They can

01:24go through the gears a bit more. They have got the potential to do that. They're certainly

01:29not playing at full capacity, but Gareth Southgate needs to find a way of getting them closer

01:34to full capacity because what we've seen so far is not going to be enough to go all the

01:37way in this tournament. Like I say, go for the positives. England have won the group,
