The past suddenly went out the window.

I suppose when I became CMO,

I was looking for a lot of advice from a lot of people.

The reality is I became CMO in 2020.

So that means that for all of us,

the past suddenly went out the window

and we had to imagine how the world could be

under these completely new circumstances.

So for our industry,

which has a huge part of our business happening

in bars, in restaurants, in clubs,

all of that was closed at that time.

So very quickly, we had to think,

actually, how do we focus on consumers

and what are consumers doing under these circumstances?

We quickly learned that people were spending

more time at home preparing cocktails,

that they were spending more time on social media,

getting inspired by new recipes and trying new things,

actually socializing in a virtual way,

which hadn't happened before.

That allowed us to put, for example,

bartenders in front of people in a completely different way.

So the truth is, yes, we utilize all the assets

that we had from the past,

but also we thought about them in a completely different way.

And to me, that's been an enormous learning

because what that has done is to prove

that you have to be super agile all the time,

that the world around us changes so fast

and success really requires us

to have a finger on the pulse all the time.
