Meet painting pig Pigcasso in China's Chongqing

Can a pig paint? No kidding, it's true!

Pigcasso Art Exhibition "Thank You, Color" kicked off on Saturday in Chongqing, China. The artist is the animal artist from South Africa — Pigcasso, who is known as the pig that can paint the best in the world.

Pigcasso, the name that whimsically merges "pig" and "Picasso," has etched a memorable mark on the canvas of history. Rescued from a slaughterhouse in 2016 by Joanne Lefson, this South African sow found solace and a surprising penchant for painting at the Farm Sanctuary SA in Franschhoek. With a brush in snout, she expressed her emotions and perceptions of the world around her on the canvas, creating bold, vibrant pieces that captured the attention and hearts of art enthusiasts globally.

In 2021, Pigcasso's "Wild and Free" was auctioned off at a high price of 20,000 pounds, breaking the Guinness World Record. Tragically, Pigcasso's vibrant journey came to a close in 2024, at the age of 8, after a battle with chronic rheumatoid arthritis.

This art exhibition displayed 24 works by Pigcasso, including 12 black and white works and 12 color works each, allowing visitors to experience the magic of color and artistic charm.
