00:00Hi, I'm Stephanie Savage.

00:08I'm Josh Schwartz, and we are the showrunners

00:10of Marvel's Runaways.

00:11Season 3 is the biggest season we've done yet,

00:13and we really have fully embraced the fact

00:16that this is a comic book show, and our characters

00:18are superheroes.

00:19We started out kind of telling a more grounded story

00:21of these Brentwood kids who are discovering some strange things

00:24about their parents.

00:25And in season 3, we have alien body snatchers.

00:28We have Morgan LeFay trapped in the dark dimension.

00:31We've got magic.

00:32And so the kids come in wanting to find their missing runaways

00:36and get them home safely.

00:38At the same time, they are discovering at the audiences

00:41that there's an additional alien, a fourth alien, who may

00:45have jumped into one of their bodies.

00:47We also very early on introduced Morgan LeFay

00:49as this character who is speaking

00:51to Nico in some way that she can't quite explain,

00:54but she's a woman of incredible power, incredible charisma.

00:56And definitely trying to tempt Nico over to the dark side.

01:00What would you like, Nico?

01:02I'm here for you.

01:03Well, we arrived at Elizabeth.

01:04It was pretty easy.

01:05We needed somebody regal, and powerful, and commanding,

01:09and kick-ass, and funny.

01:10British wouldn't be.

01:11British also good.

01:12British also good.

01:13And she just fit the bill perfectly.

01:15And when we spoke to her, she couldn't

01:16have been more excited, and she's having a blast.

01:19I think you can tell on screen.

01:21You're not scared for me.

01:23You're scared of me.

01:24Well, Nico and Carolina's relationship

01:26has always been a core of the show.

01:28But I think this year, it really comes to the fore

01:31and really gets tested in a way that we

01:33haven't quite seen before.

01:34This season is very much a story of dark versus light.

01:37And obviously, Carolina embraces the light, and is the light.

01:41And Nico is going darker than ever before.

01:42And who will win in that struggle?

01:46Chase, when he last saw the Runaways, was on the outs.

01:49He had betrayed the Runaways.

01:50He had gone back.

01:51He had joined Pride.

01:52He had inadvertently led Pride to the Runaways

01:54where they were captured.

01:56So he is going to have a lot of making up to do for his deeds,

02:00especially with Gert.

02:02And if he thinks Gert is just going to ever accept him again

02:04with open arms, he's got another thing coming.

02:07Also, one of our biggest stories this year,

02:09the Cloak and Dagger crossover, comes from the comic.

02:13Boom.

02:14True dat.

02:14Who are you?

02:15What the hell have you done?

02:17I mean, it's something we've wanted to do for a couple

02:18years because of the comic book.

02:20But also, this idea of these young superheroes

02:22in the Marvel universe, you just feel like they

02:24need to partner up.

02:25They don't have any idea that there's other kids

02:27with powers out there.

02:29It's not just that they're in our world.

02:31They're really integrated in the story

02:33that we're telling, in the action,

02:35in the character development, and in kind

02:39of like the premise of both of the shows

02:41is connected in a way that I think will surprise people.

02:43Who are you?

02:46Zanet.

02:47It's really fun this year.

02:48We go deeper into the alien powers.

02:50We haven't really seen what aliens inside humans

02:53can fully do.

02:55And we're about to see that.

02:56They have some tricks up their sleeves.

02:58We have a whole action sequence at Dale York's cabin set

03:01to fishes bouncing around the room.

03:03Might be the first Marvel fish action scene

03:06that's been done before.

03:07So we're breaking new ground here.

03:08And then the biggest thing is just when our sorceresses come

03:12to town, that we are seeing a whole new kind of magic

03:16that we've never seen on the show before.

03:17This year's bigger, wilder, and at the same time, darker.

03:21And there's going to be some real consequences this year.

03:24Not everyone's going to survive the season.
