We're joined by Mackenzie O'Dwyer from the Victoria Spendingo Strikers 23 and under team
00:06
after an exciting two goal win over the Western Warriors.
00:10
What was the feeling like there at the end? It was pretty close for comfort.
00:14
Yeah, definitely. I think after the few weeks that we've had it was definitely good to get a win
00:18
and I think across the board as a group we're just very positive and we're looking forward to playing
00:26
to possibly get another win.
00:28
Not a lot of rivalry between the two teams. Warriors and you, a one goal margin earlier in the season
00:34
and two this time. Hard team to play?
00:37
Yes, I think we do match up well against them and being in the Victoria Netball League for the first season
00:46
as two new teams I think it's kind of a fight to see who can get the most wins as being the first new teams
00:54
and I think we're definitely proving ourselves against some of these better sides too.
00:57
From a players perspective, how has the first season gone?
01:00
Yeah, I've loved it. I think it's so exciting to be part of something in a regional town.
01:05
I think it's brought so much exciting netball to Bendigo and I've loved it.
01:12
And obviously this team is going to grow together being a very young side.
01:15
Yes, I think there's only two girls who actually are pushed out next year being too old
01:21
so there's definitely a few more years where this group can keep growing together.
01:24
And obviously four more games to go for the season. Do we have a few wins left of us?
01:28
I'm sorry, I think we definitely are starting to prove ourselves that we can beat these top sides.
01:32
We've done it against DeLong who's, I think they're close to being in the top four
01:36
so yeah, I do think that we can push to beat some of these sides.
01:39
Well congratulations on a great win and congratulations on your 17 and under Victorian selection earlier in the year.
01:44
Thank you.
