Brand new shop for Ludlow selling the wares of creatives from the area

A & I Creations in Ludlow is now open for business. A shop selling the work of local artisans.  Children;s clothes, memory bears, Jewellery, art , candles, there's much to see in the new shop, open now.

00:00So we're here in Ludlow and brand new shop full of creativity, A&I Creations, that's right isn't it?

00:06That's right, yes.

00:07So you are?

00:08I'm Stacey.

00:09And who's this young lady?

00:11Isla.

00:11Is this your mum here then by any chance? Good guess eh?

00:14So where does the name A&I come from first off?

00:17So Ava and Isla Creations, so Ava is my sister's daughter.

00:24Ah cool, nice one.

00:26So what do you do here? What's so special about your shop?

00:30Why should people come down and pop their heads in?

00:32Right, well it's all local, it's all handmade, it's just beautiful creations and just into life.

00:39So we've got, what's some of the sort of stuff we've got?

00:42So it's kind of craft stuff isn't it and artwork?

00:44Yes, so I make, I specialise in making memory bears and cushions out of loved one's clothing,

00:52first outfit, so loved one's clothing.

00:55And then we've got six other sellers with us, so there's children's clothing, there's artwork,

01:04ceramics, jewellery, very precious jewellery using ashes and hair, again from lost loved ones.

01:15Bee Biotic, they make candles, products from their own honeybees as well, so that's great.

01:27So if you were going to have £10 in your pocket money or £20,

01:30what would you be heading to? What's your favourite thing in the shop?

01:35It's hard really.

01:36It is, when there's so much nice stuff it is tricky.

01:39Yeah, you are eyeing up something aren't you?

01:44What's that then?

01:46It's a sleep easy product from Bee Biotic, so it's designed to put on your temples.

01:54Shall I let you into a secret?

01:56Because it's your mum's shop, you get a little bit of discount.

02:02Maybe, speak to the management just to confirm that though.

02:06So what's your background then Stace, are you a local girl are you?

02:09I am, yes I'm local, I've had this business for about nine, so yeah about 10 years,

02:19so it's just developed.

02:21So where have you been operating from before then?

02:24From home, yes from home, so obviously going out to local markets, country shows, all local.

02:32So what was it that made you think we need to do the leap to a shop,

02:38apart from your house being full of stuff I daresay?

02:41Absolutely, just the fact that another shop was closing in Ludlow,

02:46I just felt that Ludlow was losing loads of shops,

02:51and myself I probably couldn't make it work alone,

02:56but obviously meeting all of these very talented people along the way,

03:01I just thought well let's all come together and make it work.

03:04And these are the kind of shops we want in this town aren't we,

03:07you know we don't want to come and see everything we've seen on the high street in

03:11you know Dudley or Shrewsbury, this is quite a unique little special shop.

03:16Definitely, and we just wanted everybody to you know be unique in here,

03:21and not sort of double up on you know what people produce really,

03:26so everybody's very individual.

03:29And the lady that makes the clothes, she's got a little set up sewing machine,

03:33and she'll even be in here now and again making her own little products.

03:36We're both being here in term on the sewing machine,

03:40so it's nice, and the other artist she'll be covering days,

03:46and she'll be in here sketching, so it's just a place where we can

03:52work and obviously create at the same time.

03:55So Tower Street Ludlow, just right in the centre,

03:59so yeah get yourselves down guys.
