00:00The decision will be issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board of the NCR

00:06regarding the petitions for the minimum wage hike.

00:09It is expected to be issued before the July 16 anniversary of the last increase in wages in Metro Manila.

00:15Yesterday, the NCR Wage Board held a public hearing

00:19attended by labor organizations and employer groups.

00:23Several groups petitioned for an increase of P150 per day.

00:28Some petitioned for P600 and P750.

00:33At present, the minimum wage in the NCR is at P573 to P610.

00:39According to some labor groups, this is not enough for decent living

00:44due to the high price of goods.

00:47For the employers, it will be difficult for the businesses if the wages will increase.

00:52Some of them are just waking up from the pandemic.

00:56After the hearing, the NCR Wage Board will make a deliberation.
