Sutskever, who recently left OpenAI after a disagreement over the company's direction, emphasizes that SSI's goal is to ensure safety, security, and progress in AI without the distractions of conventional business pressures. Sutskever and Leike co-led the company's Superalignment team, which concentrated on managing AI systems. The team was disbanded soon after their departure.
