Searches for 'Melaka' spike on WeChat after Fan Bingbing's ambassador role

"Melaka" and “Fan Bingbing” are trending on Chinese social media, with searches for the terms surging after Chinese actress Fan Bingbing's appointment as the Visit Melaka 2024 (TMM2024) ambassador.

WeChat statistics showed that "Melaka" garnered over 320 million searches while “Fan Bingbing” had more than 795 million searches over two days on June 14 and 15.
