So we're here at West Chadsmoor Family Centre and, might be a bit of a clue there, look at that.
00:07
So fill us in ladies, so we've got Angela on the right.
00:10
Hello I'm Angela Staples, I'm the deputy manager at West Chadsmoor Family Centre.
00:14
And who've we got with you in the pink there?
00:16
This is Emma Cox, I'm the coordinator and we're part of the management team.
00:21
So fill us in a little bit on what you do here, what happens here and how 7Trent have been helping with that.
00:28
We work in a deprived area obviously and it's mainly 0-5's we work with, families with 0-5 year olds.
00:38
But we do work with the wider community, we have a community table on a Wednesday morning which Angela organises.
00:45
We run a chitter chatter group on a Tuesday afternoon which is attended by families and residents of the area where we provide hot meals.
00:55
We have wellbeing groups for parents with a crash for the children, quite a few different things going on at different times.
01:02
We've got a very busy programme and you can easily find information about us on our Facebook page.
01:09
And like you say, West Chadsmoor, it's not a flush area is it? These services are quite needed here.
01:16
It is, it is an area of social deprivation and we do support families as much as we can and the wider community in all that we provide here.
01:24
And even though we're lucky enough to secure funding, one of the problems with funding is the lack of core costs and management hours.
01:33
And obviously the funding from 7Trent is going towards that so it's going to be a great help to us.
01:38
So how much have they come on board and given then?
01:41
Just over ÂŁ16,000.
01:44
And like you say, that's going to help keep the door open and the lights on isn't it?
01:50
So you must be chuffed?
01:51
We are, yeah.
01:52
How did you find out? Did you get an email? Did you get a phone call? How does it work?
01:56
We got an email and then Dred Goff from 7Trent rang us up and explained everything so yeah, it was great.
02:03
That's good, I'd want to make a call wouldn't you if you were giving out that money?
02:07
We were lucky enough to see her a few weeks ago and meet her face to face and say thank you.
02:12
She said what a brilliant job Angela had done. She said of how many people that had applied for the funding.
02:18
She said the people that do, do a very good job on the application.
02:22
Well done Angela.
02:24
Cheers ladies, keep up the good work. Thank you.
