Football fans not fearing for safety after Hamburg axe attack

Fans in Hamburg don't fear for their safety after police shot a man wielding an axe near a Euro 2024 fanzone.

00:00There was a threat situation this afternoon at 12.30 on the Hamburger Kiez on the Reeperbahn.

00:06There was a man who came out of an immis, in one hand a pickaxe or a hammer,

00:13and in the other hand a so-called Molotov cocktail.

00:16And with these objects he then approached passers-by and police officers

00:22and threatened them, tried to attack them,

00:25and the police officers then used their firearms.
