00:41So they're scheduled for eight in the light heavyweight division. Dan Aziz in the
00:47red with a blue waistband. Sepp in the red and white.
00:57Andy Scott said earlier on that these two won't have to look for each other
01:00and we're seeing that already. Sepp likes it up close, he keeps that quite tight guard,
01:06does expose the body a little bit but looks to try and get on top of you and make you work,
01:10employ a bit of lateral movement. Aziz has got to start quick, get on top of him and stay there.
01:30Good use of the jab early on from Aziz, you need that against a fighter like Sepp who just
01:34coils off to his left and throws that left to the body, then the right up top.
01:38Good action already, you know decent body shot from Sepp.
01:43So
02:03that's right hand into the pits of the stomach there from Aziz.
02:07When he was boxing for Croatia, Sepp was on the same team as Filip Hrgovic,
02:11they travelled the world together. Hrgovic on the end of a
02:16terrific performance from Daniel Dubois a couple of weeks ago.
02:32Plenty of intent from these two.
02:34There's Aziz with that jab which travels further than opponents might think.
02:50I think Aziz can keep Sepp going backwards, back him up and keep him going backwards,
02:55keep him off balance, that's what he should be trying to do. I think Sepp
03:00needs to be coming forward really to be effective.
03:08Sepp just needs to try and lean on, breaks free, hands out right hand, not with too much force and
03:13stepped off to the side, that's exactly where he will want it. Aziz likes it up at that kind of
03:18range too but as you said he is capable of keeping it a little bit longer and would be
03:23well advised I think to do so, final stages of round one.
03:43So the bell goes at the end of round one, these two fighting out in the open air of
03:49Selhurst Park, Aziz with Buddy McGirt in the corner, he's been out training in the USA.
04:00And what a night we've got ahead of us Matt, top of the bill of course it's Willem Smith against
04:04Ratcliffe for that WBO world cruiserweight title and when you ask people during the course of the
04:11week who they think is going to win it's difficult to get a straight answer and that's always a good
04:15sign. Yeah because people are very much divided, I think people are even confused with themselves
04:20with that, with what they think I'm one of those people, I've gone back and forwards whether
04:25I think Willem Smith will win or whether I think Ratcliffe will win and they're the best fights.
04:30Absolutely another great fight as well, Jack Massey up against Isaac Chamberlain for the
04:34Commonwealth and European cruiserweight titles, whoever wins that will fancy their chances of
04:39having a crack at the winner of the main event. Ben Whittaker to come as well, so a lot to like
04:46about this card into the second round here of a scheduled eight between Sepp and Aziz.
05:00That was clever from Aziz, he just held and then found room with the right hand to the body.
05:09That's good range there from Sepp, just setting his feet and letting that right hand go.
05:33And again just catching Aziz where he wants him there Matt, climbed into the left hook,
05:41followed it with the right hand. Yeah a little bit too static when he's standing in distance
05:46Aziz there, if you're going to stand in range then he needs to be busy, he needs to get that
05:49jab going and try and back Sepp up behind that jab, sometimes just staying there a little bit
05:55too long in punching distance and Zeb teeing him off, teeing off on him, just lining him up and
06:00banging that right hand left hook in. Again getting caught with that right hand, left hook
06:05right hand combination, no head movement from Aziz, again getting caught with that right hand.
06:11He's thrown it five or six times in this round so far Sepp,
06:16the confidence is there, right hand comes back from Aziz, Sepp manages to just pull his feet
06:21back a touch, lean back and avoid that one.
06:23Yeah again Aziz in terms of head movement, too static, he's got to move that head.
06:41And again now he looks to lead off with that left hook followed by the right hand,
06:44he's not looking to jab here Sepp, he needs to get close enough
06:47to land that left right in the manner that he's doing and he said it in the first round,
06:51he said it in the first round, I think Buddy McGirt said it in between rounds.
06:56Aziz can use that jab and keep this more on the outside.
06:59Yeah but I think he's got to keep coming forward as well behind the jab, he's got to back Sepp up,
07:04he's ineffective when he's backed up, he needs to be coming forward to get his shots up,
07:09when he's he's not you know going backwards, he's not the same fighter when he's coming forward
07:13and he can plant his feet, he's effective but when he's going backwards,
07:18he's nowhere near the same fighter, so Aziz got to be busy, keep his head moving,
07:23use the feints and try and keep backing Sepp up behind the jab.
07:28Closing stages of round two, wasn't a huge amount to pick between them in the first round,
07:33this has been a Sepp round you would say, he's turned into a really good watch this already.

08:18It's time to go fast, okay, a lot of punching, okay, don't look for the knockout, but dig those
08:26shots to the body. Yeah. Well you're on trainer Buddy McGirt there man, and he was saying exactly
08:32what you were saying, he's got the push set back. Yes, you know Sepp when he's coming forward,
08:36he can plant his feet and he's got leverage into the shot, he's effective, he's quite,
08:40he's a good fighter, but when he's pushed off balance and he's not going back,
08:44you know, he's nowhere near as effective, so even though that has just got to, you know,
08:51keep his hands high here, keep the head moving a little bit as well, a little bit too static of a
08:55body and try and keep, you know, pushing back behind the jab and then cover the distance with
09:00his feet, step to him after. McGirt just telling Aziz as well to work to the body because the body
09:06is largely available against Sepp, there are gaps there,
09:15and this is going to be hard work, I think they knew that when they discovered who their opponent
09:22would be, this is not the kind of fighter you can look to try and take out with a single shot,
09:25not that Aziz has ever really done that in his career, he books in for a long night more often
09:30than not. But then when he pushes him back there, then he's got to take that step forward as well,
09:35you know, he'll back Sepp up by doing that, just by his presence, his pressure, he'll push him back,
09:44he lands the shots and Sepp steps back, he's got to step on him, keep that pressure on him,
09:49you know, and that's good of a body movement there, coming underneath the shots, making him miss.
09:57Just leaning forehead to forehead there, a little bit of a tussle to see who was
10:01the stronger, good right hand from Aziz.
10:07As they bend his knees, get low, come underneath him,
10:10he'll be in a stronger position there, two push against him.
10:27Aziz just digging to the body, Sepp though lands a good left to the body, then the uppercut,
10:31but you see when he's coming forward there, Sepp, you know, he's strong, he's able to
10:35put his shots together, he's in a nice rhythm there, his shots are flowing,
10:38working the body shots, good too.
10:44Oh, big right hand from Sepp, again, Dan just a bit too open, Dan, that left side.
10:52Left hand got through there from Sepp, left hand from Aziz, and it's a hard fight this,
10:58in the third round, deep into the final minute is scheduled for eight.

11:40Bell goes at the end of the third round, Johnny Nelson has joined us down at ringside,
11:46because 25 years ago he won the WBO world cruiserweight title, the title that is on the
11:52line tonight of course, currently in the possession of Chris Willemsmith, he did it
11:56against Karl Thompson, and I think we can have a little look at
12:01Johnny Nelson in his prime here in his pod, please explain this.
12:04Well I had a bit of hair then, but you know what, a night like this I knew this was my last chance,
12:08I knew, you know, I had to perform, and Karl Thompson was a formidable opponent,
12:14he beat Chris Eubank twice, I had to make sure I went in there with intention to use pace,
12:19use power, use confidence, if I went in there with anything left, this man was capable of
12:24breaking any fighter's heart, because he was naturally very strong, naturally very distinctive,
12:29that's how much it meant to me, and this is how much I mean to these two boys tonight.
12:33Well he was a phenomenally hard fighter Karl Thompson, he still disputes that stoppage by
12:38the way to this to this very day, the pair of them won European titles and Karl Thompson won
12:43his 30 years ago against Massimiliano Duran in Italy, boxing out the champs camp, and that's
12:49exactly what Jack Massey does later on, looking for that same European title at Cruiserweight,
12:55it's such a good card this, into the fourth round and this has been a good fight, a good watch.
13:02It's been a hard, fast-paced first three rounds, both guys kind of
13:07fighting for that centre of the ring position.
13:14Sorry, Dan trying to push Seb back, but Seb not really wanting to go back.
13:20Left hand from Aziz was bang on the beltline there, Seb again just dipping off to the left,
13:30looking for that left hook right hand, just gesturing to referee Bob Williams and he feels
13:35like Aziz has caught him a little bit low a couple of times, good left to the body there from Seb.
13:41Yeah he's landed a couple of decent good body shots, Seb.

13:57Heading up towards the midway point of round four, a right hand landed there from
14:02Seb again and he could head into the second half of the fight here Aziz,
14:06needing to play catch up a little bit because I think at halfway if it keeps going like this,
14:12long way to go in this fourth round but Seb is probably going to be ahead.
14:16Yeah he's landed some probably the better shots, Seb.
14:27Into the body again there, decent jab there from Aziz.
14:31Yeah Aziz landed some good shots but his defences are letting him down a little bit,
14:35getting caught with too many right hands in the body shots,
14:37particularly the left hook to the body working really well for Seb.
14:41Into the final minute, Boddy McGirt just imploring Aziz all the time,
14:45just keep coming forward, a constant stream of advice from the trainer.
15:11Just towards the end of the round there for the first time,
15:13Seb just took his feet out, looked to step off a bit and maybe
15:17by a little bit of time, work rate wise, Aziz should be the superior in terms of stamina.
15:26When you look at the level they've been at at the age of the two maybe, yeah we've got a hot pace.
15:32Beautiful, good, good.
15:37Right hand there gets through from Seb, Aziz trying to get on top of him.
15:40I mentioned Jack Massey earlier on, Luke Taylor was caught up with him backstage.
15:47Jack, in the build-up, Chamberlain was getting a lot of attention
15:51but we've had a lot of people picking you to win, does that play in your mind at all?
15:56No listen we're here now, all the talking's done, all the shenanigans have done and
16:01it's time to go to work and it's where I'm going to go to work and get the job done.
16:07You mentioned shenanigans, it feels like this was business and now it's personal,
16:12we saw a little push and pull at the weigh-in.
16:14Yeah it's still business, that's all in the past, it's all behind,
16:18it's time to concentrate on the fight now and get the job in hand done.

16:26It's such an interesting fight now because Massey and Chamberlain both found themselves
16:30on the outside for quite a long time in the wilderness after high-profile defeats and
16:36they both had to gamble to get back in.
16:39Chamberlain with the fight in Bournemouth against Bill and Smith,
16:42Massey stepping up to heavyweight to fight Joseph Parker,
16:45which seems absolutely insane at the time and although he lost,
16:49he gave a good account of himself so there's a massive amount on line for those two.
16:54Into the second half of the fight here, through four,
16:58could be two apiece, could have Sepp just maybe ahead.
17:05Aziz, you feel, has got to try and keep this work rate as high as he can.
17:10Yeah he's got to keep his pace up and he's got to keep Sepp backing up.
17:17But he's got more head movement as well, he's still a bit too static,
17:20you know, he's got the left hand low, the right hand is getting through,
17:23catching him down the left side so, you know, he needs a bit more head movement down Aziz.
17:28That's how you got it at home, 3-1 to Sepp, Aziz with the first round and Sepp everything since.
17:32I thought that fourth was pretty tight but I wouldn't argue too strenuously with that.
17:39He needs to make the second half his, Aziz, I think that was maybe always the plan.
17:45Yeah he's got to keep his pace going, got to keep this work rate up,
17:48you know, and again he's got to tighten up, particularly down the left side,
17:52getting caught with those right hands too often.
18:00And he's just giving himself a bit more room at times here, except that he has done previously
18:04and then looking to step in with that left right.
18:08But again, you know, it's Sepp that's backing up here that wants to
18:11try and get a breather so this is good, good signs for Aziz that he doesn't like the pace,
18:17so he's got to keep this on him now, keep the pressure up.
18:22Keep working the body shots when they come together and then when the exchange is finished,
18:27finish on the jab.
18:32Still just working that left particularly, Sepp, every time he throws it that right hand
18:35comes through as well into the final minute of the fifth.
18:39Yeah, I've been two shots for Sepp with a straight right hand and the left hook to the body.
18:43They're working well for him.
18:48But there's a decent pressure from Aziz.
18:54But again, just getting caught too often.
18:57Right hand from Aziz off the back of the left from Sepp.
19:12He's a combination there from Aziz, but again, there's not very much in this fifth round.
