00:00When I grew up, my dad was a toolmaker.

00:22In this parliament, we've had three prime ministers,

00:25five chancellors, five home secretaries,

00:27six health secretaries.

00:29How do we know, how do we know that if you won

00:33the general election, you'd still be prime minister

00:35in a year's time?

00:43Look, I can appreciate people's frustrations.

00:47Of course, we haven't got everything right.

00:49To 3% of fairness, would you personally

00:51be happy to pay more tax?

00:53Yes, of course.

00:54OK.

00:54But I've always paid my tax in full.

00:58But, you know, and I accept I earn a lot of money

01:01in the job I am now in.

01:03But when I grew up, my dad was a toolmaker.

01:07My mum was a nurse.

01:08And actually, we couldn't make ends meet,

01:10which actually isn't a laughing matter.

01:12We couldn't make ends meet.

01:14And I would, yeah, thank you so much.

01:15I would, I would usually agree.

01:18I just think that, and I'll be very honest here,

01:21that picture of the queen, our late queen,

01:23who was left to bury her husband on her own,

01:28during COVID, following guidance that we all followed,

01:30and knowing what was happening in Downing Street,

01:32and you were part of that, and you had a fixed penalty notice,

01:35and you've apologised.

01:36And I understand all of that.

01:37That's where the trust broke down.

01:39And I just think we have long memories

01:41in this country as a public.

01:42And you really will have to go some.

01:45And I appreciate the apology tonight.

01:46Thank you very much.

01:47But you have to realise that there is a long way

01:50to go to really rebuild that.

01:52Yeah, no.

02:02Those rules were difficult for everyone to follow,

02:05and the government should absolutely have gone

02:08above and beyond.

02:09No, for Brexit, one of the reasons people voted

02:12for Brexit was to take back control of our borders, right?

02:15What was the total net migration figure

02:18in the last three years,

02:19running up to the 2016 referendum,

02:22when we had freedom of movement?

02:26Do you know it?

02:27I don't have it offhand.

02:28It was 836,000 people.
