I'm Conway Gittins reporting from the New York Stock Exchange.
00:02
Here's what we're watching on the street today.
00:04
Stocks are coming off a winning week on Wall Street with the S&P 500 clinching a new record
00:09
high.
00:10
Investors are looking ahead to the Federal Reserve's latest decision on interest rates
00:14
and May inflation data both out Wednesday.
00:17
Separately, investors are awaiting Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference where
00:21
the tech giant will announce updates to its software and Wall Street is looking at how
00:25
Nvidia's stock performs after its 10-for-1 stock split.
00:30
In other news, 775,000 vehicles are being recalled from two automakers.
00:35
Kia is calling back 463,000 of its Telluride SUVs and Stellantis-owned Dodge is recalling
00:43
roughly 212,000 SUVs and pickup trucks.
00:46
The Kia recall involves Tellurides made between 2020 and 2024.
00:51
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says there's potential for the front seats
00:56
to catch fire.
00:57
The agency has cautioned owners to park outside and away from buildings due to the issue.
01:04
This is Kia's second Telluride recall just this year.
01:07
The company called back 400,000 vehicles because the SUV had the potential to roll away even
01:13
while in park.
01:14
The Stellantis recall is for several different models.
01:17
2022 Dodge Durangos and 2022 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks have an issue with their anti-lock
01:24
braking systems, according to Stellantis.
01:27
That issue could deactivate the vehicle's stability control system, which prevents the
01:31
loss of steering capabilities during an emergency.
01:35
According to NHTSA, driving a car without that system increases the probability of an
01:40
accident.
01:41
That'll do it for your daily briefing from the New York Stock Exchange.
01:44
I'm Conway Gittins with the Street.
01:46
Thanks for watching.
