Ice-T Is ‘Very Excited’ For ‘Law and Order: SVU’ Season 26, Thinks Show Can Hit 30 Seasons

00:00 - The most frightening moment was when I read the last script.

00:04 Have you seen the last-- - I have not seen it yet.

00:06 - I get shot. - Okay. Wow.

00:09 - So now I'm reading the script, and everybody's like,

00:11 "You get shot." Now, you don't want to get shot

00:13 in the last episode of a season.

00:15 Now, I'm not gonna tell you what happens,

00:18 but I'm still smiling, all right?

00:20 But I was-- for a minute, I was like, "I got shot."

00:23 Everybody's like-- and they were teasing me on the set.

00:25 They go, "You better look at that script, man.

00:26 You got shot." I'm like, "I got shot?

00:28 What? Is it time for me to go?"

00:31 You know? But we're very excited

00:34 about going into season 26.

00:36 You know, I think last season,

00:39 we caught a whole 'nother wind of fans,

00:41 and everybody got in, and the ratings were great.

00:44 So I don't see any reason why "SVU" can't go 30.

00:47 We're on season 26. I don't see--

00:49 I think the show will stay on as long as Mariska wants to do the show.

00:52 It's her show.

00:53 Well, see, Mariska's crazier than you think.

00:55 Like, you know, you see the character,

00:58 but I'm with her every day.

01:00 And I've been with Mariska longer than I've been

01:02 with anyone in my life consistently.

01:05 You know, 25 years, that's more than elementary school,

01:08 junior high, high school, college put together.

01:11 And that's a long time.

01:14 You know, I've been with my wife 25 years,

01:16 but I spend more time with Mariska on the set.

01:19 So I know her well, but I think both of us

01:23 are very grateful that the fans love the show,

01:26 and we're humbled by that.

01:29 And I think that's why we come to work every day ready, you know,

01:32 keep doing it.

01:34 None of us are jaded.

01:36 We're like, oh, we're big television stars,

01:38 and we don't want to work, and we phone--

01:40 they call it phoning it in when you're not really there.

01:42 You just--so yeah, we're very fortunate.
