Josh Maravich, the son of the late Hall of Fame basketball player Pete Maravich and a former LSU basketball player, has died at the age of 42. The announcement was made by Louisiana State University on Saturday night, following Maravich's discovery at his home on Friday. The university did not disclose the cause of death.

Maravich, a reserve guard for the LSU Tigers, played from the 2001-02 season through the 2004-05 season under the guidance of then-coach John Brady. During his time at LSU, Maravich fulfilled a lifelong dream to play for the same institution where his father became a basketball legend. Pete Maravich, known affectionately as "Pistol Pete," set the NCAA Division I men's basketball scoring record with 3,667 points from 1967 to 1970, a record that stood unchallenged for over fifty years.
