Galdiators' Jamie the Giant  attended the offial opening of the new Prinme Fitness gym in Heath Road, Skegness.

00:13 Yeah, definitely. It's been a fairly long time coming to be fair. Now it's actually

00:20 here, it's great.

00:21 So if you could explain exactly where you are and what the gym offers.

00:27 Yeah, well we are on the industrial estate. We're right next door to Screwfix and Toolstation,

00:34 so it's quite easy to find. Our gym is for anyone of all abilities, from beginners to

00:43 athletes. Our gym is full with all brand new equipment. Yeah, all cardio is all up there.

00:52 It's a bit of a TARDIS isn't it, because from the outside it looks like quite a small

00:57 unit, and you get in here and there is a lot.

01:00 That's it, a lot of people have said that. They look at it on the outside and think it's

01:03 quite small, but as soon as they walk in they realise how big it is. Especially with the

01:08 mezzanine floor, you've got all the cardio upstairs, boxing and stretching area, and

01:15 then downstairs is all your functional training and all your strength training as well. So

01:22 I'm really happy with how it's turned out.

01:24 So how many staff have you got here?

01:26 We have got five personal trainers. There's me, Andy and Joe also, directors, we all work

01:38 here as well.

01:39 That's quite a big team, and how many members? I understand that has taken off really well

01:44 already.

01:45 Yeah, to be fair we had a number in our heads for opening day, from the pre-sale, what numbers

01:51 we thought we might get, but we've beat that easily, so we're really happy with how it's

01:56 turned out. When people come and look in, they do get quite shocked at how good it looks.

02:02 Yeah, it can only get better.

02:05 Yeah, hopefully.

02:06 So how can people go about joining?

02:09 They can either pop into the gym, see one of our staff members at the reception, they

02:26 Now Gladiators fans will need no introduction here, but for those who don't know, we've

02:34 got Jamie the Giant, and you've come along to the gym. I understand that you actually

02:39 know the owners?

02:40 Yes, so I was a bodybuilder for many years, for Gladiators, and I had the pleasure of

02:45 having my own gym back in Derby, Hilkiston, and these chaps have been over to my gym a

02:51 few times to train, so I know Andy and Jay very well, and it's amazing to see what they've

02:56 done here, because this looks like a fantastic facility.

02:59 Yeah, I was going to say, because obviously you must have trained in all sorts of different

03:03 facilities, what do you think to what is on offer in Skagness?

03:09 Well first of all I think it's very aesthetic, the black looks nice and slick doesn't it?

03:14 And I know Primal are a very, very good equipment brand and they've kitted out all Primal stuff,

03:18 so I've not had a great look round yet, but I've had a browse obviously with a glance

03:23 of the eye at a few things and it just looks amazing. I'm really looking forward to getting

03:26 on the equipment myself and giving it a good go.

03:42 Obviously it's the official opening today, what do you think to the new gym?

03:46 Well, I came here about two weeks ago and I was quite surprised how big it is, it's really

03:52 big, the equipment's fantastic, people are really friendly, really reasonable price as

03:58 well. I actually travel 100 miles every weekend, so the gym's back where I am, but you know

04:05 the good, but this is just brilliant.

04:07 So you travel 100 miles just to come to this gym?

04:10 No, I do now, yeah, yeah.

04:12 Wow.

04:13 Yeah, it's such a good gym, so yeah, it's brilliant, yeah.

04:16 I see, so you'd recommend it to everyone, I mean do you do it just to keep fit or are

04:21 you bodybuilding?

04:22 Yeah, I did bodybuilding, I did one three years ago, so, but obviously, you know, I

04:28 don't do it now, but I just try to keep fit, so it's just a great gym, you know, it's like

04:34 one little diamond to compare, so yeah, it's brilliant.
