Midnight bluff leaves a boy sleep talking through a fictional card game

In the dead of night, she decided to play a prank on her boyfriend.  Gently shaking him awake, she insisted they were in the middle of an intense card game. Half-asleep, he groggily tried to make sense of her words.  She persisted, but he wasn’t having any of it.  Still in a daze, he squinted at her, clearly more interested in his pillow than any card game.  Realizing his sleep was far more valuable than winning a game, he sighed and declared her the winner, hoping it would bring an end to the charade.
