00:10When I think of Barbie, I see a little white doll with blue eyes in all pink.

00:17That's what I think.

00:20I just found Barbie to be a little light skin.

00:26Years ago, there were no black dolls.

00:28They were all white dolls.

00:31Little white girls, they could see possibility in their Barbies.

00:36And there was nothing that I can relate to.

00:39This is me and the creator of Barbie.

00:42At Mattel, I worked on the lines.

00:45She would say, do you have any suggestions?

00:48I was able to say, we want a black Barbie.

00:51That was a little act of revolution.

00:54Crowning this doll as Barbie was telling the world black is beautiful, too.

01:01I designed black Barbie to reflect the total look of a black woman.

01:07She's black.

01:07She's beautiful.

01:08She's dynamite.

01:10I thought black Barbie felt magical.

01:13From a young age, children can learn about inclusiveness.

01:16It's really pretty.

01:17It has locks.

01:18Just like me.

01:19Black Barbie has just taken me to a whole different world.

01:24I knew black Barbie was different, but I never realized the magnitude.
