We are talking about again more storms progressing their way in a southward
00:03
fashion here, a southeastward fashion throughout Texas and Oklahoma and
00:07
Arkansas. And some of these storms have been really robust here with drenching
00:11
rain and some power outages. Some parts of McCurtain County near Ida Bell,
00:15
Oklahoma and also across the state line into Arkansas with a lot of power
00:18
outages and trees, power lines down and a string of flash flood warnings here
00:22
too. We're gonna keep a close watch on that. Additionally, some thunderstorms
00:25
still going strong here into a southern Wisconsin. So no surprise. Our top
00:29
story here, the severe weather threat. And we're watching those storms through
00:33
the day tomorrow as well into the Midwest after a stormy Sunday in
00:36
Platt Center, Nebraska. You've got a little break today, but the threat for
00:40
strong thunderstorms will return here tomorrow. That's right. Quite a light
00:44
show going on there into a Nebraska. We're to take you out to live to
00:47
El Dorado, Arkansas here for our top story. And Jeff looks quiet here right
00:53
now. But boy, we've been following that vigorous line of thunderstorms as it
00:57
slides its way southeast. And it's a very widespread one here into
01:01
northwest Louisiana, southwest Arkansas, northeast Texas. Huge severe
01:05
thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service in Shreveport.
01:08
In fact, the warning itself, if we were to measure that it runs a pretty
01:13
impressive length of about 143 miles. Again, I didn't grab quite the pinnacle
01:20
there off to the west, about 143 mile long severe thunderstorm warning. That
01:24
is about as big as they come here, at least in the U. S. And we're dealing
01:28
with again a large area with severe thunderstorm potential damaging winds
01:32
moving into Marion County. Still heavy rain in Cass County, Texas, Morris
01:36
County, Harrison, Eastern Upshur, Greg County on Dhe. Then into the
01:41
northwestern part of Louisiana, Cato Parish, Bozier Parish, Webster and
01:45
Claiborne Parish. Then on the Arkansas side, Union County, Columbia County,
01:49
Lafayette County, Miller County, also parts of Nevada and Hempstead County.
01:52
Still under this same huge severe thunderstorm warning. And again, it's
01:56
not necessarily an unusually strong thunderstorm, but it is impacting a
02:00
large area, and that's the reason for this large warning. So you can see that
02:04
there is a report of Louisville, Arkansas facing multiple trees down in
02:08
the northern part of the county. That's where the storms have been recently.
02:10
Texarkana, multiple trees down across the county, and then also we've seen
02:14
some hail and some flooding here. You can see street and roadway flooding
02:18
streets closed there in Nash, Texas, and that's not far from Texarkana. And
02:23
then other reports here you could see into Foreman trees and power lines down
02:26
countywide. And with the Weather Service says that usually it's a sign that
02:30
there have been many reports in many areas, many small communities along
02:33
Interstate 30 east of Dallas Hunt County is under a severe thunderstorm
02:37
warning, and you can see that there are flash flood warnings here as well into
02:40
the Dallas Metro. So a lot of concerns. And another spot that we want to keep
02:43
an eye on is up into north Texas, far northwest parts of the Texas area here
02:49
near the panhandle. This has been kind of a finicky cell here. It's just
02:53
fighting itself. They're moving into Perryton. There is some window loft
02:57
that's kind of battling this one right now, but it still is holding on in
03:01
northern Ocaltree County. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect here
03:05
because of hail. Here's a report of hail, and you can see that this has
03:08
been about the size of a quarter in Booker, Texas. They're in northern
03:11
Lipscomb County. So again, there it's a severe storm. It's a lone ranger there
03:16
at this point. Let's take a look at the watch. The I'll show you the watches in
03:19
a moment. Here are the power outages. We have about 37,500 addresses or 57,500
03:26
addresses now between Texas and Arkansas in the dark right now. Most of
03:32
that, at least on the Arkansas side, is tied to the current storms that are
03:35
plunging south soon to reach you in Shreveport. You are under a severe
03:39
thunderstorm watch as well until eight p.m. And again, we only have one severe
03:44
storm up here near Perryton in the second watch, but there will likely be
03:48
a few more storms to get going and hail will be the main concern there into
03:52
areas like the eastern part of the Texas Panhandle from I 27 to the east.
03:56
So overall, this is the stripe here that we're most concerned about. Some of
03:59
these stores are beginning to outrun some of the orange there, but damaging
04:02
wind and hail have been the main concerns, and some flash flooding is
04:06
also an issue. So tonight, more storms for some into Dallas Jackson Little
04:10
Rock will see some more of that, and then we'll have a little break in the
04:13
action during the day tomorrow after some morning storms impacted the same
04:17
area. Daytime weather looks okay, but then more storms fire off into the
04:20
night, and that's gonna be cause for more concern. It's gonna be real hot
04:24
where it's not stormy during the day Tuesday. Some of these numbers, Justin
04:27
pretty steamy 87 in Oklahoma City, but 93 in Dallas 101 in San Antonio. That's
04:32
10 degrees above average.
