00:00You had like, you know, 12 points in four minutes.
00:10What's going through your head early in the game?
00:12Set the tone.
00:13Just got to set the tone.
00:15That's about it.
00:17Your dad almost didn't make it here,
00:19but he was certainly there by the end.
00:21What did it mean to have him as you
00:23go to your first NBA finals?
00:25Yeah, a lot.
00:26They had a seven hour delay, but he
00:29made it, so it meant a lot to be here.
00:34You know, we've seen you do this before in Phoenix,
00:36where you just kind of rip the hearts out
00:38of the crowd on the road in the elimination game.
00:42What is that?
00:43How would you describe that feeling
00:44to demoralize the crowd on the road in this situation?
00:49It's a good feeling, man.
00:50I can't lie.
00:52Just go out there and, you know, it's us against them.
00:57Just stay together.
00:59But that feeling, that feeling is great.
01:01Was there one fan in particular that you kept going at early on?
01:04Yeah.
01:05What was that about?
01:07I can't tell you.
01:08If I tell you, I can sue him.
01:11But you know, that gets me going.
01:14Everybody knows that by now, so just got to do it.
01:19And then, you know, you guys, obviously,
01:21last year disappointing, end up in the lottery.
01:24To make this leap, what do you think
01:28were kind of the key developments
01:29to make this happen just in the span of a year?
01:32Insane.
01:33I think we've got a great team.
01:35But most importantly, we've got great guys,
01:36and great guys on the team.
01:38From players to coaches to everybody on the team,
01:40we have great guys.
01:42And that's the most important thing.
01:44Like I said, we stay together, and we just play basketball.
01:48Especially, I think we beat three very, very, very
01:52good teams.
01:54And having home advantage, which is pretty good for us.
01:59For you personally, growing up watching the NBA from afar,
02:02maybe watching the NBA finals late at night,
02:05what does it mean to you to reach this plateau?
02:08I didn't watch because it was 4 in the morning.
02:12I had school next day.
02:14What does it mean to you personally
02:15to reach this milestone six years into your career?
02:19It means a lot, man.
02:20It means a lot.
02:21It's not easy.
02:23It was a very hard road.
02:25Very hard.
02:26But we are here.
02:27Obviously, we're not done winning four more.
02:30But I think today, we all deserve to enjoy this win.
02:34You've had great games and closeouts at home.
02:38But on the road, is it sweeter?
02:40Way sweeter, yeah.
02:42Why?
02:42I mean, just because it's, you know, because of?
02:44Just because, I mean, you know the crowd
02:48is going to be in there.
02:49When you score the bucket, when we score it,
02:52it gets a little bit quieter.
02:54So that's why it's sweeter.
02:57But it doesn't matter if we win at home, if we win away.
03:01We just want to win.
03:02And when you think of Boston, what's
03:05the first thing that comes to your mind?
03:07I mean, they're the best team in the NBA.
03:10They had by far the best record.
03:11They have some incredible weapons on offense and defense.
03:15So we're going to have to play really hard and amazing
03:19basketball to beat them.
03:22What can you tell me about Jason Kidd and the two guys?
03:25Sorry?
03:25Jason Kidd.
03:27Jason Kidd, I can't hear you.
03:28Sorry.
03:28Can you talk about how much Jason Kidd, as much as team
03:32influence he had, did he have this way?
03:34A lot.
03:35And everybody, too.
03:37You know, he understands me and Kyrie's role,
03:40because he's been in that role.
03:41So he helps us a lot.
03:43But everybody, he kept everybody together.
03:47You know, we were up, we were down a lot,
03:50especially during the season.
03:52It was ups and downs all the time.
03:54But he kept us together.
03:59A lot.
04:00Like I always tell you guys, it's been great to have him.
04:05Helped me mature.
04:06It helped me see the basketball in a little bit
04:09different way.
04:09So everybody's glad he's on our team.
04:14Luka, your smile says it all.
04:16Seeing what your path has been, your career with this team,
04:20seeing the MVP trophy in front of you,
04:22the finals of the West, leading this group to the finals,
04:25what are those emotions, those feelings?
04:29They're very good emotions.
04:32That trophy is for everybody.
04:34It's for the whole team.
04:36Without this team, without these players,
04:37Entrada wouldn't be here.
04:40So thanks to them, I can have this trophy.
04:45Luka, two years ago, you guys were here
04:47as the younger team playing against an experienced Golden
04:49State team.
04:49Now that role kind of reversed.
04:52Do you feel the difference in experience from 2022 to now?
04:58I wouldn't say reverse.
04:59I think we have a young team.
05:00I'm sorry, Kyrie.
05:02Kyrie getting old.
05:05But we're a young team still.
05:11No, I think there's a lot of people
05:14that wasn't in playoffs.
05:16We had that talk before players, everybody together.
05:19And we just play.
05:20We like to play basketball.
05:21We like to play together.
05:22That's it.
05:23You were telling us how old you were.
05:25Oh, I'm old too.
05:26Yeah, me and Kyrie, we were the old heads on the group.
05:28And Keith.
05:30We're the past 30 years.
05:32Where does that trophy go on the trophy case?
05:35Middle, off to the side?
05:38Home, home, out of nowhere.
05:39What's in the middle?
05:41Is that Euro basket still?
05:44I don't have that trophy.
05:45I wish I had.
05:46I have the yearly trophy, but I don't know.
05:49We'll see.
05:50Well, maybe in four more wins, you
05:52might have one to go in the middle?
05:52Hopefully.
05:53That one for sure, if we make it.
05:56Thank you.
05:58All right.
05:59Done for interviews today.
