Cops cripple five-gang alliance with arrests of 21

An alliance of five underground gangs has been dismantled with the arrests of 21 members.  The suspects were detained during an operation on May 3 by the CID's Organised Crime division (D14), assisted by the Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies division (D7) in Johor, Pahang, and Selangor. 00:09 Akhbar statement related to the arrest of 18 suspected criminals who we know as the TR Gang.

00:18 So, I would like to share a little bit about this success or operation for all information.

00:25 The arrest of 18 suspects who we know as the TR Gang started on 3rd May,

00:38 which is the date of the operation we call Operation 5,

00:43 by the suspected criminals in 14 Bukit Aman,

00:49 assisted by the Maksiat, Judi and Konsei Gelab in 7 Bukit Aman.

00:55 All 18 suspects that we arrested were detained under Section 4(5)

01:01 under the Special Safety Act of 2012.

01:06 And then, they will be charged today under Section 130(1) of the Penal Code,

01:18 which is the crime of being a planned group member.

01:22 Meanwhile, there are 3 more suspects that we arrested,

01:28 actually, they were detained in Penjara Sungai Buloh.

01:32 The investigation shows that they are indeed a member of the group.

01:37 So, this crime can lead to imprisonment for at least 5 years and no more than 20 years if convicted.

01:45 So, all 21 suspects are aged 26, the youngest, and the oldest, aged 51.

01:54 So, the investigation shows that they are all members of the Konsei Gelab

02:01 from the Gang 08, 18, 21, 24 and 36,

02:09 who are active in several areas in Selangor,

02:14 and involved in the activities of drug trafficking,

02:18 violent crimes such as murder, rape, and bribery and also treason with fire.

02:26 What we know for sure from the results of the investigation,

02:30 they have been active or have been active since 2019 until they were arrested.

02:37 So, the act of identifying the suspects in this group, we still continue.

02:43 So, there are 3 of them, as I mentioned, in Penjara Sungai Buloh,

02:48 and we cannot accuse one more person

02:51 because of health issues that are currently being treated at the National Heart Institute.

02:57 So, once the treatment is finished, we will accuse them.

03:02 So, the suspects in this group are still there,

03:08 and we are still investigating, and we are sure that they have escaped,

03:14 but we will continue to investigate.

03:17 And we will continue to investigate the groups involved in the activities of violent crimes and drug trafficking.
