00:00A young man was killed by a river in Camarinas Sur.

00:04And in Zamboanga City, his family is mourning for a man who was killed in training and is currently in the hospital.

00:12This is Jessica Calino with GMA Regional TV, Balitang Dikulante.

00:19The family of Fire Officer Juan Jerwin Gonzalez did not expect that he would be taken home in Zamboanga City.

00:26On May 16, Gonzalez went to Pagadian for his oath-taking as the new official of the BFP.

00:33He also started his training in BFP Regional Office 9.

00:37But on May 20, Gonzalez died in the middle of drills.

00:43This is the head of the tactical officer.

00:47We had a conversation in the emergency room.

00:50He said that my brother was unconscious.

00:54He had a high fever and rashes.

00:58He had an intubation.

01:01My brother was breathing heavily.

01:04After a few minutes, he passed away.

01:09My brother had a heart attack.

01:12He had CPR.

01:13The next night, Gonzalez passed away.

01:16According to the doctor's findings, Gonzalez died of fatal arrhythmia with severe hypophosphatemia.

01:24This means that there is an abnormality in the heart that has to do with the lowering of phosphates in his blood.

01:31But the family of the victim is not convinced.

01:34Because Gonzalez is an athlete since he was a child.

01:38That's why they will force him to do his oath-taking.

01:41According to BFP Region 9, only light training is given to the trainees.

01:46They are also told to be hydrated.

01:49Even so, the agency is ready to help the family of the victim.

01:54I believe that all tactics, duty man, off-duty man, to pave the way for the impartial investigation,
