00:13Beware of kaiju-sized spoilers ahead.

00:24Number 10. Godzilla's Roman Holiday.

00:31When Scylla first appeared in the MonsterVerse, it wisely chose to bow down to the King of the Monsters.

00:37But after the arachnid-like kaiju re-emerged to wreak havoc in Rome, Godzilla decided to squash the overgrown spider.

00:45The King of the Monsters was easily able to toss Scylla like it weighed nothing at all.

00:50And instead of drawing the battle out, Godzilla unleashed its atomic breath to execute an explosive finisher.

01:03Although the bout was brief, it was still awesome to see how dominant the King truly was.

01:08Seeing Godzilla take a nap in the famous Colosseum afterwards was just icing on the cake of a great fight.

01:20Number 9. Kong teaches Suko how to play baseball.

01:24Shortly after arriving in a new area of the Hollow Earth, the Skull Island primate came across a relatively smaller ape.

01:31Unfortunately, the little Suko wasn't as innocent as he seemed.

01:38He and apes immediately attempted to kill Kong, but the Skull Island graduate used everything he could get his hands on to overcome the odds.

01:46In Kong's finest and funniest moment, he used Suko as a baseball bat and swung him at the evil apes.

01:58This savage move paved the way for the heroic ape to get serious payback against the kaijus who tried to jump him.

02:05Suko also learned that if you take a shot at Kong and miss, he will not hesitate to humble you.

02:17Number 8. Mothra returns.

02:25In 2019, the majestic Queen of the Monsters flew into battle to help Godzilla defeat Ghidorah.

02:31When the fight went sideways, Mothra sacrificed herself to give the King the boost he needed.

02:36Fans who had been eager to see the Queen return got their wish in New Empire.

02:40After Gia journeyed down into the Hollow Earth, she was able to fulfill a prophecy and reawaken Mothra.

02:47Yes! Yes! She's protected the portals!

02:53The Queen stunned everyone by brokering a treaty between Godzilla and Kong.

02:58To make matters more impressive, Mothra volunteered to fight evil monsters and saved all of the human heroes.

03:04While it took a while for the Queen to return to our screens, her comeback could not have come at a better time.

03:17Number 7. Suko saves Kong.

03:22It initially looked like the mischievous little ape would never get along with the heroic primate.

03:27After all, Suko tried to indirectly kill Kong several times.

03:32Despite that fact, the little monster kept getting second chances.

03:46Suko finally returned the favor after he saw his king ruthlessly kill a kind ape.

03:51When that twisted ruler sent multiple monsters to take out Kong,

03:55the little ape activated an old trap and killed most of the assassins.

04:03Suko's act of courage showed that he was willing to put his days of deception behind him.

04:08From this moment on, he would prove to be one of Kong's most valuable allies.

04:16How did they find this place?

04:19Number 6. Godzilla fights Tiamat underwater.

04:23Weaponizing her body of razor-sharp scales,

04:25Tiamat's arctic lair sits in the direct path of electromagnetically charged solar winds,

04:31making it the largest stockpile of energy on Earth.

04:34Monarch scientists were baffled when they saw the king of the monsters

04:38intentionally attack a nuclear facility to absorb its radiation.

04:42It turned out that Godzilla was just pumping itself up

04:45so it would be ready to take on the titan known as Tiamat.

04:48We're entering Tiamat's domain.

04:50Something is off.

04:52Tiamat's energy is distorting her radar.

04:55We don't have a visual on Godzilla.

04:57When the two finally met underwater, their clash did not disappoint.

05:01After using an atomic blast to knock on Tiamat's door,

05:05the two grappled like Olympic wrestlers.

05:07This particular fight took full advantage of the aquatic setting

05:10with great visuals and fluid movement.

05:12Godzilla's decisive victory here also allowed him to gain a massive power boost

05:17before the final fight began.

05:19Although it would have been cool to see more of Tiamat,

05:21the creature's spirit lived on in the king's new form.

05:27Warning. Detecting altered energy signature.

05:30Oh my God. It's changed.

05:33Number 5. Kong duels the Scar King.

05:38Even the hollow earth wasn't big enough to hold two alpha primates.

05:45So, when Kong stepped into Scar King's territory,

05:48the crooked royal attacked the hero on sight.

05:51Their duel was fast-paced and incredibly tense.

05:54And although we knew Scar King was a living nightmare,

05:57we had to admit that seeing him use a dead titan's spine

06:00as a whip-like weapon was pretty awesome.

06:04Despite the home-field advantage, Kong did pretty well against his foe.

06:08Unfortunately, Scar King cheated and ended the battle early

06:12by having Shimo give the hero an awful case of frostbite.

06:15The underhanded way their duel ended

06:18got us excited to see Kong get revenge during an inevitable rematch.

06:28Number 4. Gia chooses her family.

06:33While the human plotlines are not always

06:36the most interesting parts of the MonsterVerse movies,

06:39New Empire gave us an emotional story arc to follow.

06:42After a disaster devastated Skull Island,

06:45Gia became the last living member of the Iwi tribe on Earth's surface.

06:49She finally found people who shared her traditions and culture in the hollow earth.

06:53Gia's adoptive mother Aileen was fully prepared to help her family

06:57get back on their feet.

07:00Additionally, there were multiple hints that the young heroine

07:03would be taken in by the Iwi queen,

07:05but just when it seemed like the two would part,

07:08Gia declared that she would stay by Aileen's side.

07:30This emotional mother-daughter moment

07:33gave us one of the franchise's most heartwarming scenes.

07:36Number 3. The monsters defy gravity.

07:47Scar King wanted to bring an army of monsters to the surface.

07:51In order to slow the villains down,

07:54the Iwi people used an ancient technique to mess with gravity.

07:57Their actions led to the franchise's most unique battle yet.

08:00The bulky Godzilla got to gracefully float through the air

08:03while taking on enemies.

08:09At the same time, Mothra was able to web up foes

08:12like she was a variant of Spider-Man.

08:14Kong also took advantage of the weightless chaos

08:17by fending off Scar King and regaining his signature weapon.

08:20We're thrilled that the creative team defied gravity

08:23to give us a battle with highs, lows and everything in between.

08:35Number 2. A titanic clash of heroes.

08:46Kong and Godzilla agreed not to fight

08:48as long as they each stayed in their respective territories.

08:51But when the Great Ape needed extra muscle

08:53to confront the Scar King's army,

08:55he risked death and traveled to Cairo

08:57to ask his rival for help.

08:59Initially, Godzilla wasn't willing to hear Kong out.

09:02The King was ready to tear the Ape apart.

09:04After Kong threw a little pocket sand,

09:06the two got into an all-out brawl.

09:09Their exciting clash included Godzilla

09:11showing off his wrestling moves,

09:13mechanically enhanced punches

09:15and the Ape literally dragging his foe.

09:17Watching them fight was tons of fun.

09:19However, we were willing to see them forgive and forget

09:22so they could give us one of cinema's most epic team-ups.

10:23Overall, the final battle was packed with satisfying moments

10:27and was topped off by an epic team finishing move.

10:30The marvelous brawl also deserved props

10:32for unseating the big bad

10:34so that Kong could become a king once more.
