இந்த உலகம் உய்வு பெற வேண்டுமானால் அதில் அன்பு செழிக்க வேண்டும். அப்படிப்பட்ட அன்பை உலகிற்க்கு போதித்த பல மகான்களின் பெயர்களை வரலாறு அன்போடும் மரியாதையோடும் இன்றும் சுமந்து நிற்கிறது. அந்த மகான்களில் ஒருவரை சந்திப்போம் அவர் வாழ்ந்த வாழ்க்கையை சிந்திப்போம்.செல்வ செழிப்பில் பிறந்து உலக பற்றை துறந்து போதி மரத்தடியில் ஞானம் பெற்று அன்பை போதிக்கும் உலகின் மாபெரும் சமயங்களில் ஒன்றான பெளத்த சமயத்தை நிறுவிய கெளதம புத்தரின் பிறந்த தினம்தான் விசாக தினம். இன்றைய நேபாள எல்லைக்குள் இருக்கும் லும்பினி எனும் ஊரில் கி.மு 563 ஆம் ஆண்டு அதாவது சுமார் 2500 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு பிறந்தார் சித்தார்த்தர். அவர் பிறந்தது மே மாதத்தின் பெளர்னமி தினம். அவரது தந்தை கபிலவஸ்து என்ற நகரின் மன்னனாக இருந்தவர். சித்தார்த்தர் பிறந்த ஏழாவது நாளில் அவரது தாயார் மகாமயா இறந்து போனார். மகாமயாவின் சகோதரியான மகா கஜபதி சித்தார்த்தரை வளர்த்தெடுத்தார்........மேலும் தெரிந்து கொள்ள
