WATCH: Zane Herrera from the Lighthouse community kitchen shares a memory of Raymond McCormack at his vigil.
Transcript
00:00 Now if you don't know Ray, I'd love to share that. Ray was a man of repetition.
00:04 So every Tuesday and Thursday night without fail he would come up and say, "Zane,
00:09 what time is the meal?" And I would say, "Ray, 5.30." After three years of being asked the
00:16 same question, I thought, "Why not give him the wrong answer?" He said, "Zane, what time is
00:22 kitchen on?" And I said, "Midnight. We're so behind schedule." And he looked at me and he laughed and
00:26 he smiled. And it was one of the few times that I've seen him smile. And if that was the only
00:34 impact that as a community we were able to make, I'm grateful to be one of the people,
00:39 the many people to make a difference in his life.
